Laird and I would be going to this rally in a heartbeat -- if we didn't already have plans. I'll be in Austin, TX and Oklahoma City celebrating grandchildren and children. Laird has our Airstream's front interior in demolition mode as he reworks the front gaucho and dining table in between polishing the exterior.

We've met some of the Southern Illinois WBCCI folks along with our LincolnLand WBCCI folks and are most impressed by their hospitality -- and what a fun setting for a rally. We'll keep this event in mind for our next year's schedule if it is held again.

You all might see some cool small planes.

We've seen and heard several planes flying over us this weekend in Central Illinois so I Googled to see if there was an airshow nearby. That's how I landed (so to speak) on the info about the St. Louis Regional Airport fly-in.

A bit of information for everyone attending.

Dogs are welcome and must leashed.

Bring your water hose and a Y-connector and we'll all be daisy-chained together for water.

There will be signs for the Airstream Rally directing you to the camping area as soon as you get off the highway by the airport.

Oh yeah, Karen (marblesyoga) is coming with her 68 Overlander.

I was packing the fridge last night and questioning whether the meals were really included, so I did some calling. Indeed, the meals on the schedule are included in the rally fee. The only potluck is the brunch.

After work Cosmotini and I will be caravanning to the airport. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there.

There are signs, but they're easily missed. When you first come into the airport there's a three-way split. You'll want to go left. Then you'll see the signs leading you to us (right next to the control tower).

I have some great night pictures that I'll post on Sunday. The moonrise was quite stunning over the runway.

My goodness, Tinloaf, you outdid yourself with the great photos capturing the "delight" of the Airstreams in Flight Weekend. Love the photos with the night lights and vistas from the control tower and hangar roof.

You're entitled to zing us a bit for missing what looks like a fun weekend rally.

For those who missed this rally, it sounds like there will be a repeat next August. I'm also going to put out an invitation to the November rally at Stephen A. Forbes State Park.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't sure if the two of you would like it, and thanks for bringing the fire bowl. That was a great way to have a fire where there were no fire pits. Also thanks to Cosmotini for providing a propane tank for us.
