We so hoped to make Alumilina this year! However, after camping 60 straight days in the B190 campervan and just getting back home to Naples, we will miss that wonderful event looks like after all. Nice to have more space than 75 square feet to live in. Have fun and stay safe!

It ain't broke, so we ain't gonna fix it!

We are returning once again to the Tom Johnson Rally Park in Marion, NC for our 13th gathering of Alumalina.

October 22-25, 2020

As always, 4 days of food, fun, fellowship, seminars, craft fair/flea market, beer swaps, Bourbon Trails, open house, walking, talking, crawling, biking, hiking, campfires, and plenty of paroozing.

Everyone is welcome, everyone is family, everyone is likeminded, everyone is happy.

The Tom Johnson Rally Park features nearly 300 full hook up sites in rally style parking, all on beautiful, flat, level grass.

A bath house, handicap parking, café across the street, restaurants and shopping just down the road, walking trails, the Catawba River, lots of open green space, and Camping World all right there. Plus, a huge Pavilion for all activities.

All this for $32/ night camping fee. We will have a modest rally fee, TBD, but as always....a bargain.

There is no need to call the Park for a reservation, we will have the entire Park. Just post to this thread so we can make plans.

No reservation, no advanced rally fee, simply PAY WHEN YOU ARRIVE. Come early, stay late, same rate.

The Tom Johnson Rally Park is located in Marion, NC, "Where Mainstreet Meets the Mountains". In the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains and the shadows of the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is prime time for fall foliage in the NC mountains.

Mt Mitchell, highest point east of the Mississippi, is less than an hour away on the Parkway.

Down town Marion is only 5 miles away, with restaurants, breweries, wineries, shops, and all sorts of good stuff.

Asheville, Black Mountain, Biltmore House, Hendersonville, and much more are all just a short distance away.

One of the best things about Alumalina is the only thing you really need to do is arrive, safe and sound.

We will take care of the rest.

Food, friends, fellowship are all included.

If you happen to need supplies, the good news is they are just down the road, about 1 mile.

Groceries, ice, Lowes, restaurants, Harbor Freight, the ABC store, 2 minutes away. Plus, the wonderful town of Marion is only about 5 minutes away.

So, everyone.... just focus on getting here in 1 piece.

Sorta like the old Greyhound bus commercials..." Leave the driving to us".

Couldn't agree more. Steve and Tam do a fabulous job of hosting "Bring-a-Beer-Get-a-Beer". Even if you do not have a beer to swap, you will be welcome. With so many regional and local craft beers out there, this has become a great way to explore to world of beer.

Susan and just I spent a wonderful weekend in Marion, tying up some of the many loose ends.

The really good news is....

Our first stop was with the McDowell County Chamber of Commerce. They prepare the Rally Bags for us each year, and of course have a pulse on Marion and the surrounding area.

The VERY FIRST THING they said to us was "WE'RE GLAD YOU ALL ARE COMING!". They had already received the news from the Rally site folks.

This is great news, we honestly did not know what to expect from them due to the current circumstances.

At the Rally site, they are equally excited. The grounds look good, the Tom Johnson Café will be open, and so will Camping World.

All of the local food suppliers we use are just as excited. The entire town of Marion is excited. I'm excited!

Good morning John from sunny New Jersey. Sorry to say that life has a way of jinxing the best laid plans and we have to change our plans.
