Music suggestions...

I only have my acoustic guitar, electric bass (and amp) and a little keyboard with me. I do have PA equipment also, and a mixer if needed/desired. When we have gotten several people together for jamming, sometimes we end up with a ukulele (or several), a fiddle, often a mandolin, and one or more acoustic guitars (if enough, I can play my bass). One time, several ukes and I (on guitar) played in the little kitchen there, and it was a blast.

I do like to play mostly folk, country, western, pop, rock, classic rock, jazz or soul music. I am not too versed on djent, edm or trapp (I can't even spell it).

I know selected (and limited) songs from the likes of the following: Eagles, John Denver, Mark Chesnut, John Prine, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Band, CSN, John Paul White, Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffett, Old Crow Medicine Show, Ben E King, Otis Redding, Mamas and the Papas, America, Jay Ungar, Beatles, Pure Prairie League, Brad Paisley, Antsy McClain, Chicago, Neil Young, Brooks and Dunn, Marty Robbins, King Crimson, Bad Company, Allman Brothers, Garth Brooks, Kinks, Joe Cocker, Joe Bonamassa, Commander Cody, Bonnie Raitt, Derek and the Dominos, Roy Orbison, Grateful Dead, Moody Blues, BTO, Keith Urban, Charlie Daniels Band, Mason Profitt, Steely Dan, Jefferson Airplane, and others.

Uke players often have songs with songbooks that we can all join in on though. And I can usually follow written instructions. I can often follow verbal commands (just ask my wife).

I am looking forward to playing and anyone who can join in (or even better, to lead me) is appreciated. Singers are always appreciated too!

I will plan on playing my guitar (a lot) (and maybe bass guitar, and maybe little keyboard). I also may be trying to sing as well, although my throat typically needs lubricating beforehand (when is Rita coming?).

I hope to see others with musical interests and we might have additional times to play. Last year, the lounge area at the restaurant was considered for an opportunity to play indoors, but was closed in the evening. They hinted (last year) that I might be able to convince someone to open it up for a group of musicians to play out of the weather.

If you're interested in playing, or singing, at an impromptu gathering, leave a comment. I am curious to see what we can do.

ps, musicians is the proper spelling...

Thanks for responding! I always like playing with others, and as a rhythm player (not lead), I can usually follow well.

Do you sing also (he asks hopefully)?

We can always use singers!

We arrived last night. What a beautifull campground with lots of room and space. The pavilion is has no walls and is completely open. We met one Airstreamer who beat us here!

Looking forward to a wonderful event.

I will have my uke and several more players are coming with ukes. I think all arrive Monday. I’m glad you said people with “music interest” not “music talent”.
See you soon. It’s always been one of my favorite Alumalina activities.

We do craft/flea market in pavilion. Therefore, no table or tent necessary!

Thank you everyone...

for checking in and checking out....very much appreciated. My paper list is suffering from wear and tear but I think the count still stands at 213.

Thanks, Turk, for the great pictures. Glad you like the Park, I am sure everyone will like it as well. It is a great venue and we are so glad to be able to rally there.

Seeya soon. John

Unable to attend

Please take our name off the list, June and Tom Park. We were sure looking forward to our first Alumalina, however due to a medical problem will be unable to attend. We are looking forward to next year.

Thanks,
Tom

I sing and play semi professionally. I have about 6 hours of music ready to perform. I am not bringing any equipment, beside my guitar. Soft acoustic rock with an emphasis on the Beatles!
