It is frustrating me when I unhitch my 2 5/16 ball from my 5/16 Demco hole. I’ve blocked the trailer tires and put my truck in neutral. Sometimes the release is smooth, but most of the time it is not; the ball stays stuck in the hole. A solution would be

Coat the ball with white lithium grease.
I had the same issues, non-Demco to the point I was drawing a crowd thinking I was a raving lunatic jumping on the bars or bumper.
Just apply a dab every trip, and cover the ball when not in use to save your pants.
