Value of 72 Argosy
We have rescued a 1972 26' Argosy.. Is there a value for a very low vin # .This one is 26T2V0010. Solid trailer ... we already have a 75 26' Argosy and will be keeping it and do not have time to do the 72 justice. Thanks Annie

I too have found an Argosy. The numbers are 26D3v0883 Manufactured in 11-1972. Everything works except the water heater and it might. The bearings are good and it was pulled 2years ago to the coast which is about 400 miles from here. the paint is mostly gone from the front and rear caps and the carpet is original but very worn. The flooring is rigid with no discernable soft spots. The original bottles are there along with the metal gas lines. The asking price is 2000.00. Is this a good deal or not. Maybe you can gauge your price from what I have told you.

Hi. Welcome to the forums!
If you have a question about the value of the coach, you can go to the VAC website, they have a "price vs. condition" page there, so you can judge for yourself if the coach is worth the price. By the way, the VIN you have posted seems to be for a 1973, with a double bed midships, built in Versaille Ohio, which is the town where all Argosies of that vintage were built.
Good luck with your potential new trailer.

Argosy
Hello Gator.. Argosys are great trailers.. we were able to buy ours for $1000 Canadian.. but it would have had to have a lot of work.. If you could get them to come down to $1500 would be a fair price..

No problem. The VAC is the Vintage Airstream Club. Very good resources for owners of older coaches.
As for hijacking the thread, it was not doing a lot on its own, anyway...

VAC Price vs. Condition -- http://www.vintageairstream.com/rr_t...condition.html
Gosh, I've never heard anything specifically about value and how early in the production year a trailer was made -- even though this is quite early in the Argosy line. In any normal transition between two model years there is some lessening of the value of the older year, even if the age of the two models is little more than a month apart (unless you have a vintage classic, but I'm not betting that applies to Argosy). Overall condition would rule for me -- and there is so much going on with any trailer this age!

Generally, Airstream products are categorized similarly to automobiles, that is, model year production generally begins in July of the year preceeding the model year, and ends the following June.
