For drilling out the rivets, you can get a tool from Vintage Trailer supply for $40 that works great. Also not sure what the C-channel look's like in your model and year, but I just had a machine shop shear and bend them up for me. Took them almost no time.

I ordered a new set from OTD Mart. Seemed the easiest way, and not too expensive. My Dad has been a tool maker for 30 years. I'll post some pics of what he makes. He's got a desk job now, so he's always happy to wander down to the shop to make something.
Also, has anyone swapped in leaf springs on a vintage AS. I know it will raise it's profile a bit, but thinking of swapping them while I'm repairing the frame. I know it will work, just wondering what the cons might be.
