Replacing cracked FW tank - advice?

The fresh water tank in my 2011 FC 20 is cracked and leaking. The dealer tried an outside glue and patch that did not work, so I've purchased a new tank and am going to remove the old tank and replace it with the new one.

My two biggest unknowns at this point are: How to disconnect the pour-in tube inlet from the top of the tank when I'm removing the tank from underneath the Airstream, and how to remove and reinstall the water level sensor on the tank.

Any advice relative to this job would be greatly appreciated!

Here is my recent swap.

Filler hose as well as the vent hose will need to be disconnected from the water fill on the side of the trailer and worked down through the floor as you drop tank.

If you have a SeeLevel tank monitor system you will need to purchase a new sensor for your tank and put the new sensor on the new tank.

Ronnie,

My 2014 FC23d FW tank drain valve is leaking ever so slightly. Always some water on the little bent metal piece meant to protect it. I want to fix/replace but don't want to break anything and create a big disaster that requires me to drop the pan.

When I remove the two screws at the valve flange on the outside, is the valve assembley then threaded into the tank, so I can replace with a new drain (maybe something upgraded) with some teflon tape...or is there some other more complicated attachment to the tank? I'd rather just leave it for now rather than create a big project if it's not a simple threaded fitting I can easily remove. And I sure don't want to break anything and be SOL and facing a major fix.

Thanks. Sorry for hijacking the thread but it's related sort of :-)

Thank you so much! Your advice and thread were incredibly helpful. It WAS a fun task with one challenge after another. Stayed calm and problem-solved.
