Yes, yes, yes of course and I have done stained glass as well!

My problem is I always have great aspirations and lots of projects going on...drives Mr.InsideOut crazy!

I have seen one of these years ago before I was into trailer camping - it was all plastic with the stained glass frame made from plastic. The states were pop in plastic inserts. I believe I saw it in a camping store in Washington state. The display model was real nice - I didn't see all the need back then - it was more than 15 years ago.

Well, it is a travel club - right?

No more states to add this year though (filled in the south with the Int'l Rally to Perry)...just lots of repeats in the works!

Here are the states and provinces we've camped in. I've been to all states except RI and HI.

Here's Daisy's diary so far, but with retirement weeks away, we're getting ready to do some coloring.

Carol, weren't you at the Mid-winter in January? Shouldn't Georgia be colored in on the second map?

Hi Jon, yes I was out to your neck of the woods, well not too far in Perry in January, I think my maps are reversed, with Tennesee either being forgotten the second time or I was mistaken on the first. I know we have stopped in more states but they were not actually planned destinations. You can see the really long haul for us in Michigan is going to be to California, to us the other end of the earth. I want to see Malibu!!!!!!!!!

One project I want to do is to go find all my travel info I record but never manage to log to one book and get our stats into shape and complete and carry along in the Airstream, perhaps adding some pictures.

I bought one of those aluminum covered, spiral bound Airstream note books just before we bought our trailer to use as a travel log and so far I have recorded nothing in it! I keep track of the mileage in my Franklin Planner so I can go back and record the dates and some quick thoughts, but I just never seem to find the time. I thought it could be a winter project but misplaced it for a long time and then so much kept me busy this year...even in winter. Maybe this coming winter...probably not. Oh well, "the best laid plans of mouse and men..."

Here's mine.

This is a general map, and not with the Airstream.

I use the same thing and store it in the magazine rack just inside the door -- with a Bic pen clipped to the wire coil. It's easy to jot down a few details in the quiet of a campground. I number each trip leg, where stayed, date, mileage, mpg, and a brief description. It has over 40 entries in just under 2 years and will have a lot more when Susie joins me in retirement next winter! It's a lot of fun to look back.

Rules for Coloring In a State

What are the rules for coloring in a state on your map here on the forum? I think most agree that your Airstream has to be with you in the state to color it in. If that wasn't the case, then what does it mean in this forum's context? If I didn't have to have my Airstream with me, I could color in all but five states, but I've only colored two because that's where Pat, I, and our Airstream has been so far.

The map is called a "Visited States" map. So what is a visit? Some would say you have to sleep in the state to color it in. But, didn't you visit the state if you stopped to see something, bought some gas, had a meal? I think if you drove through it with Airstream in tow (or rode inside for our motorhome friends), you visited the state and can color it in.

Maybe we should post this as a poll, and see how the vote comes out.

Randy

I had the same thought when I first saw those pillows. A friend solved the problem for me - she bought me the Washington state dish towel from the same company. I embroidered all over the pre-printed towel, folded it over, sewed three sides, added stuffing, and voila! That project kept me busy for quite a while!

No West Virginia

Hello... I just called The Cat's Studio and asked where the West Virginia tea towel is and was told they did not have one for there because they thought they would not sell well... ... that sucks... will not get my business.... West Virginia is our second home..and it is almost heaven..
