True Confessions
So....
For the first time today, I washed my trailer.
No, it hasn’t gone unwashed in the 5 years I’ve owned it. I’ve just had it done at the original dealer, at JC on all my visits there, and with a roving RV washer in my state.
But today - after returning from almost a week on Association Island on Lake Ontario - the Tin Goat was a mess - what with seagull “presents”, several smoky campfires and the unbelievable mass of bugs who died on the shell of the Goat....
So when we got home, I went to AutoZone and snagged some McGuiers, a microfiber cleaning cloth and drying cloth.
Stem to stern was about an hour. Unbelievably fun and it looks BRAND NEW!
I’m embarrassed to confess my fear of destroying the finish got in my way of just doing something so simple - and so satisfying! And the finish doesn’t look harmed in the least!
Not a ton of effort for several tons of results! Couldn’t be happier - or more embarrassed - so was wondering - what confessions do you have about life with your trailer that you learned something from?
Happy camping!
Steve

Doug loved to hand wash and wax the Interstate, and said the same thing you did...how satisfying it was to do it himself, every inch, til it suited him.

We ari in Alaska. It is raining every day. Maybe some of the dirt will fall off when we hit a bump.

In one hour! What's your secret?
EDIT: Oh, I saw Maguire's and I assumed you polished it too. But still quite speedy considering the gunk you were washing off.

He is not in Texas in August with the heat you all have where things dry in 3 seconds flat if you are lucky so you can only wash 6 inches at a time....... Maybe that helped him out a bit?

Confessions on an open forum - SSM - you have got to be kidding.
No can do. But, there is a plan. That is all I'll say.
Show everyone that smile your clean and shiny coach made, please!

Ahhhh, the truth comes out about the time. Washing in the northeast between August rain storms so it can be done in an hour. Devil you are making a lot of the rest of use feel substandard.
Glad you enjoyed washing it. I actually have a lambs wool wash pad that is only for Alice..... She loves her bath when we get back from trips.

PKI - there were no photos of my smile though DW must’ve gotten tired often constant repetition of “would you look at how great that looks??” and “that was so fun!” etc....
Bweybright - I’m glad Alice enjoys that. Of course, using a lamb’s wool pad on the Tin Goat is a non-starter [emoji3]
