Exclamation A dream come true Thanks RichardT

Hi everyone,

Well I’m a newbie here but I just want to Thank RichardT to made it possible to have my own beauty of a Tradewind here in Holland, it arrive last week in Bremerhafen (Germany).

I’m dreaming for over 20years of an Airstream but it look that times just impossible to get one here and the ones you see over here are really all in bad shape this one is really in perfect condition just that our European laws & rules are that different from the American laws & rules so rebuilding of towing, wheels, electricity and axes have to be done something that I think is really a shame. But than again she had a wonderful trip overseas in company of 2500 big fat BMW’s and 12 luxury yachts.

The body is without a scratch, de floor is excellent, ….. but I could go on and on……. She’s perfect.

It’s always tricky to buy something so far without seeing but I know that the RV’s & the service that RichardT Provides is without any question the service you would like to get everywhere.

And I know …… I didn’t make it RichardT easy, Sorry Richard, but you’re a great guy who honest and really loves the American Airstream.

I will cherish and tread her well, she’s in good hands.

You made my dream come true!!

Thank you Richard

Carla from Holland

How absolutely exciting this must have been for you. We've all been thrilled upon getting delivery of our trailers, but I cannot imagine what you must have felt: watching that large ship come in, seeing the unloading of your new Airstream "baby" to the dock, and then actually opening the door and looking in! Congratulations on making your dream come true. Happy camping!

Congratulations to you! She is an absolutely beautiful trailer and it's wonderful to see her arriving safely at her new home.

Thank you for sharing pictures with us, and welcome to the forums!

Ya gotta fix that date stamp on your camera, buddy - I almost thought you've been enjoying that trailer for 3 years, now!

Glad you're enjoying that, it's quite an ordeal to go through but so worth it for a trailer like that sitting on the dock. Beautiful!

Carla, I'm curious: What are the changes that have to be made to the trailer to make it comply with the EU regulations?

Gefeliciteert met je niewe caravan. Iedereen zal er wel jaloers op zijn!

(Yes, I'm Dutch).

Cool rig, Carla, very clean looking. Is it cleared from customs and whomever authorizes trailers for road travel in the Netherlands? Is that pretty green tractor your tow vehicle? What do you plan to do with the trailer?

BTW--in all the excitement, don't forget to vote today! We're watching (from this side of the "pond") to see what ends up happening...

Good morning All,

Thanks everyone of you guys,

Yes it's a great story, a dream coming to reality…….. And what is the greatest thing of all????????......................she’s really my own trailer
Dreams do come true!! What a nice lesson of life, and it is not to bring under words how it feels when such a “little” trailer comes out that huge shipdoor.
Ferroequine

Dank je ik kijk er erg naar uit en het heeft gigantisch succes hier als ik haar laat zien en het verhaal vertel het. Leuk je hier te ontmoeten,

The changes that are to be made are the wheels, we don’t have electrical brakes here so the axles (2) have to be replaced, the lights got to have EU reflectors, but that’s no problem, the towingthing has to be replace, electrical inside, gasequipement, my car got to have adjustments it think that’s it, so a lot of work yet to come, she’s till in Germany to fix the towingthing (I don’t how you call it) to bring here over to Holland where we can start on the inside and polishing,

Firefly

The Tractor is my Sunday car!!! *LOL* nice colour hé!!! Hahahhahahah

She will become the eye catcher of very big events in BeNeLux and Germany where we are going to serve authentic Cajun & Creole food and Burgers and beer,

I will keep you all posted with the progress and pictures,

Have a great Streaming Day

Carla

Carla, Welcome to Airstreaming... I am sure you will love your new baby. What is more enjoyable are the good friends we all make during our travels. It looks like Airstream is catching on in Europe. I noticed on the Airstream site there is now a section on "Airstream Europe". Keep us updated on your progress and be sure to post pictures of you first trip!

Hi Karla,

welcome to the forums and the world of airstreaming!! Our 1971 Ambassador arrived two weeks ago in Stendal where we are now working on him. We bought ours also from Richardt and it was a great pleasure to do business with him!! How will your trailer be transported to the Netherlands? We had ours flatbedded by sunshine transports and they did a really great job (thanks to Daniel from Airstream4u). Enjoy your Airstream and keep us posted! I am eager to see the conversion you planned...

For the brakes and axle thing did you get in contact with other dutchmembers? I know of remco who is on the dutch roads with the US Setup, maybe you can give him a PM or call and he can help!?

If you need any help, let me know!

All the best

Bjoern
