If it's Saturday at 11 AM MDT, then it's time to listen to Tom Wilhelm's "Ranch Breakfast Show" from Wyoming Public Radio, with this lead-off number.
Yee Ha!
[Cute video too . . . click on URL above for Full Screen etc. options.]

FYI the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival from San Fransisco is online in about 30 minutes, at 2 PM local PDT:
https://www.airforums.com/forums/f29...ml#post2417516
. . . Adding viewing/listening links to that post.
[not "live" from Golden Gate Park BTW]

You did post this a while back but it's worth hearing again, especially since the links in your earlier post are dead! There were several good REK tunes shared in the succeeding posts. https://www.airforums.com/forums/f16...ml#post2163176 (not sure how to make those tiny icon links like you do)

Hey Brian . . . good to hear from you . . .
Did you see him perform that tune on yesterday's "Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival" from San Francisco and a variety of other locations around the world?
Amazing!
Check out the "Music Festivals" thread at this hot link in blue. [see next post re: hot links in general]
On that thread, Post #227 starts the topic of HSBF: https://www.airforums.com/forums/f29...ml#post2417516
REK performs at time stamp [1:30:00 +/-] here:
Direct link to his performance at that time stamp +/-: https://youtu.be/TgRbSGL6BB0?t=5410
BTW, the festival video above may only be good for another few days, as I recall them saying somewhere.
Running out of edit time . . . gonna take a break.
Happy listening!

How right you are. Thanks for this. Triple bypass in February this year. Pacemaker first of September--Feeling a whole lot better than when heart rate was in the 30's-40's.

Yay . . . good for you!
Had aortic valve replacement about 5 years ago . . . amazing what the new spare parts can do!
Welcome to the OTRA I thread. Feel free to post new tunes. In general the theme here is fast road tunes.

The OTRA II thread is loosely fashioned for more somber tunes reflecting life's journeys, although those reflections are becoming more varied, as are the life journeys, I guess?

Yes I noticed that. Lots of great talent although a bummer seeing everyone getting old! I was surprised to see Boz Skaggs. And Emmylou, I've been in love with her most of my life!

A bit unclear to me exactly what you are referring to, Brian, so I will assume that you mean those situations, which I call "hot links," where there is a URL "hidden" within some blue text, and clicking on the blue text opens up the linked page . . . is this correct?
These two short threads go over it . . . kinda . . . could be clearer IMO:
https://www.airforums.com/forums/f13...link-8656.html
https://www.airforums.com/forums/f13...ts-133807.html
Post #2 in the second thread covers it pretty well IMO:

So Brian, first find a page for which you want to create a "hot link" and "Copy" its entire URL. This short process varies according to what device/phone/tablet/laptop/browser/etc. you are using -- too complicated to go into that right now IMO. But you first must have that URL ready to "Paste" in the next step. [Edit -- FWIW I am on an Apple Mac laptop, and using a mouse - this may bias my terminology a bit? -- FWIW]
Second, hit the blue "Post Reply" button above this post on the left, and compose your reply in the text composition box. Then choose the entire text where you want the URL to "hide" and then -- see that icon referred to above -- the chain links and the globe? -- when you click on that button, you can delete the short URL already there [not sure why this site does that] and "Paste" the URL of the page for which you want to create the "hot link" .
Clear as mud yet? Running out of edit time. Give it a shot and point us in the right direction maybe.
Good luck,
|

PS -- The FAQ button just above in the blue menu bar leads to all kinds of more detailed pages, and a multi-layered general overview of all of this.
https://www.airforums.com/forums/faq.php
Keep clicking on links to find all the details.
I have not found any answers there to your question about hot links -- although this info may be buried someplace in the FAQ's.
Gonna stop here and see if you can find your way through the forest . . .
[ . . . BTW all of this talk about hot links conjures up visions of a good breakfast . . . ]

I was referring to the little orange arrows but after studying them again it looks like they automatically show up when you quote a post, or part of a post.

And when you click on one of those arrows the site will take you directly to the quoted post.
Very handy!

Have a safe trip and enjoy the crooked road. Some of the best OTRA finds are on those forgotten highways IMO.

The recent passing of Eddie Van Halen is a sad day for those who like the electric side of guitars. While I enjoyed their MTV videos in the day, I have none of their music in any format. I do however have Thriller in the collection.
One factoid that I was not aware of is that Eddie played guitar on the Michael Jackson Beat It video. Interesting story...
the great riff kicks in around 3:12 or so
RIP Eddie

Missed the edit...
What I love about music is the cross pollination be it Knophler/Atkins, Garcia/David Crosby as well as Garcia/Grisman, Clapton/JJ Cale just to touch on a few.
The common thread being, lets get together and make some music.
And that they did.
Then Play On

Amazing! Apparently the riff was laid down in one take . . . intersting YT comments.
And an excellent road tune "beat" as well . . .

Not a classic road song, but the lyrics, beat and video sure inspire for getting OTRA.
