I've got a 1920 Bungalow. Heating and cooling are very inexpensive with these designs! Would love to see photos, even if it's OT

Hey friends. There's a 1964 Bambi 2 for sale 5 miles up the road from my house. Looks like a well used ratty original with well worn interior and exterior. Looks like a good project for someone.

Yesterday was so nice I pulled the bubble out to do a couple small jobs on it. Here you see a baffle I made of aluminum which will help the fridge draw cool air from the bottom part of the vent and direct it over the cooling fins (via a computer fan) and exit the top part of the vent. Two vents are the way new airstreams are set up. This is my best effort at retrofitting what I have to work with.
And since I had it out I went around town to stop at the tire shop to get a spare wheel. I'm getting closer to getting a bid on upolstry so I'm still hoping for a late june early july maiden voyage Cheers friends.

I'm interested to see how well this works in the summer. I relocated my fridge to the other side of the trailer and would love to avoid roof penetration. I think a solar panel and fan with vents on the side would be a lot cleaner, plus my windows force me to make a very narrow duct between them if I am exhausting thru the roof.

Yes I'll be sure to let you know. Solar is a good idea. I found it easy to just tap into my progressive dynamics fuse box and power it through my 12 volt system. I have an interior switch for it. I bought 2 computer fans originally but ended up installing just one because it actually pulls alot of air and two seemed overkill. The vent was already installed on my trailer beneath a window so I didn't have an option of adding another. The vintage trailer gurus tell me it will work just fine. Well find out in July!

I've made a downpayment to an upholster and we have plans to take the trailer down to his shop as soon as the foam and material is in. So were getting closer to our maiden voyage. I actually reserved a spot in idaho for a week in July. Before then I still need to track down dome lights for my 12 vt lighting system. I have not fell in love with anything yet so I may just throw in some cheap ones to get by with. Thats not my style though Any more help on lights would be cool. All the best. Ted

TinMan ~
Look into lights by Juno that are called Trak 12. Have these in my trailer and love them. Only drawback is they are halogen and run really warm. I've not really done much searching for an LED that would fit the fixtures but am hoping someone by now has to make just about every type of bulb for 12 volt.

Thanks guys. I forgot about the vintage camper site. I waiting to hear if the 10" x 5" oval 12vt light they offer there has a switch or not. All Of my cabin lights are wired together so I need the option of turning them off when a kid is sleeping up front. The low profile 2 1/2 inch extension is just what I'm looking for. Also all of my trim is in brushed nickel so I've been searching only that finish as well. I'm sure I could drill a hole and wire in a switch if i have too. Anything low profile like that is what I want to install in the front section on either side if the dinette. Two reading lights in brushed nickel is what I've thought of for the rear bed section. I think The restoration hardware vintage nautical lights may have too much extension for my dinette area. Any more help is appreciate. Ted

Here's a link to the oval light i like so far Has anyone I installed this one? It's specked out at over a pound so I assume it's truly a heavy duty brushed nickel and not painted plastic light body. check that --they are 2 lbs each.

Also, for the front dinette lights you mentioned, I purchased a couple nice looking puck LED lights from Vintage Trailer Supply. I'm planning on mounting them underneath the front shelf.

Yes the oval satin nickel low profile has a switch and glass lens. They called their supplier up and got the specs. I ordered 3 of them. I'll let you know if I like them and will post some pics if I keep and install them. Cheers.

I just reserved a getaway to cape lookout on the oregon coast for a three day weekend for the maiden voyage for June. Then it's a week in Idaho near sandpoint in July then a week in august in central Oregon near bend and at clear lake. Let the pigeons loose.
I thought I'd give myself s serious deadline to finish and furnish the bubble for this summer. Think I'll make it?

I installed the (made in USA) lights tonight. The two 10" x 5" ovals fit nice within the end cap panels and are low profile ( only 2 1/2" projection), they match the brushed nickel hardware throughout the trailer, they seem solid and well made, and have a switch and glass bezel. I think they will work fine for the application criteria I have to deal with. I put the two matching reading lights on both sides of the rear bed compartment. the one next to the sink can swivel around for evening cooking or washing. I had to reroute the wiring for one of the rear lights so it would perfectly match the placement of the opposing light and not be in the kick zone or bungalo wrestling arena So I have to do some more woodworking to hide they hole the previous owner drilled.
What do you think. They aren't plastic and only ran a couple hundred bucks for the four lights and a few spare bulbs I have one oval to return because I've decided not to install it over the stove. I just never fell in love with the super expensive yacht lights so why buy them right. We'll see how these work out. Cheers friends. Ted

Heres another picture with rear light in view. The rocker switch lit green on the left is easy to reach as you enter the door and brings all four 12 vt lights up at once.
And check out the cool silverware I came across. It is all handmade polished on the eating end and burnished and curved iron on the handles Just cool and original in my opinion. Sort of surprised my wife. I like art and feel that beauty is in the details. No burning plastic forks in my campfire.
