Does it have the original wheels on it?

If so, these will have to be replaced with trailer rated steel wheels as the original split rim wheels are not safe and no one will work on these. Do not try to adapt an automotive wheel as they are not safe for this purpose, even though a Bubble is very light.

The tires can be purchased at any good tire shop. Only use ST D rated trailer tires. Do not use automotive/ light truck tires. Carlisle makes a very good trailer tire and so does Goodyear.

Here is a link to an article on trailer tires.

Tires and wheels

Try Champion Trailers http://www.championtrailers.com/

I have purchased wheels with mounted tires from them and both prices and service were very good. They have good charts of tire sizes and ratings.

With tongue in cheek ...

I could say that tires for a 1569 bubble would probably be made of iron and you will probably need some new wood spoke wheels.

But I wouldn't say something like that. Would I?

kzener40;

I edited the date in you original subject line. You had it transposed 1569.

Sorry John, your post made me look at it.

Talking Just couldn't help myself

I had to grin when I saw the original transposed title. I was real proud that I resisted posting my tongue-in-cheek reply for a couple of days.

We all knew what he meant and I hope the feedback was useful.

No it really is a 1569 trailer.....we're talking very old.

Thanks for catching that. I'm not the best typist or spellchecker.

Wink Don't feel bad ...

I probably average 2 edits per post and then I look at them weeks later and see errors.
