It's been a busy fall , with lots of camping, and some weather issues. Since it's black Friday I thought I 'd fill a couple black holes on Spoon , the center vent area, as we will some day be installing solar, and a rather big hole where PO had covered the two exhaust vents on curb side.
Also have started on the windows and frames, glad it is going on winter , as it will be a long winter working on them.

A quick update, I've spent the last 3 weeks completely taking the window frames apart to clean them, polish them, install all new screens and new seals in them. Today we installed the frames back on Spoon. Just on the top as it's to cold to be caulking and riveting them along the frame of the trailer. Once the window frames are done, we can put the second layer of Prodex in.

Spent a couple hours disassembling the old door in a door, down to frame, . I'll have to make news skins , inside and out new screen ( btw when I took the door apart the screening was brass). I've had an old Bargman h-20 door assembly I wanted to use for a while so now would be a good time to install also.

Campfire Story Time - Real Pics!

Barry,
Thanks for telling me about your posting. I ended up reading your blog on and off the last day. I wish I knew you were posting this earlier because I would have followed you on this. Unbelievable work, both Karen and you.
Considering your Trotwood "Masterpiece," when I first saw it in person at the TCT Rally at Hoffmaster State Park, I was speechless when I saw the craftsmanship and quality of your work. I can't wait to see what you do in "Spoon." Should you ever need any assistance where you need a couple of additional hands, please don't hesitate to call or message me. I would be glad to help and also observe and learn from a master in action.

Thanks Steve, it's been a hit and miss project, but glad to be back on it again. There are several mods that will be kind of cool if I can pull it off. BTW can't wait to see you and Linda's 54 Safari after you're done!

Hated my green door. But anxious to see your progress here. Put on new top and bottom panels on the outside a few years ago, but now am unsatisfied with the interior panels, and will replace them.

Love to see the progress!

A Cloud named 'Spoon'

Hey Matt!! Not sure about the inside door panels yet,we will be doing a birch interior, and contemplating whether to do wood on the door or polished aluminum. Was your door screen brass? Because I have used aluminum on the rest of the windows I guess I'll stick with that, but having just finished a '49 Trotwood with brass screening I really like the vintage look.
I have the frames in but still need to polish the sashes and put them together (thanks for the rivet idea on the glass framing supports).

Guys have a safe Merry Christmas!
and btw tomorrow (the 15th) is our 39th anniversary!
