Just finished catching up with your blog and wow, you are going to have a truly beautiful trailer. Your craftsmanship is amazing.

I am trying to understand how you are building your cabinets. Are you covering everything including the face frames with Baltic birch? I love the rounded corners. Is there anything you do to help the BB bend? - Thanks Mark

Mark see post 196- once cabinets are framed and the quarter rounds build with 1/8” offset , 1/8” walls are built then the whole cabinet is wrapped with birch veneer.

Sorry I should have stated my question better, is the Baltic birch flexible enough to make what looks like a 2" radius without any help from steam or moisture? - Thanks Mark

Once the cabinets were made I wrapped them with veneer

It’s something different and we want something warm to keep it cozy. Downside is it’s a three week wait for delivery

Counter Top Choice!

Barry, I really like the counter top selection! Great choice, can't wait to see it in person!

Pecking away a little here a little there. Had a set back three weeks ago, I tore my rotor cuff. Two weeks in and PT isn’t helping much, then again I just can’t seem to sit still. Finally have all the cabinet doors done and hung. Yay, one off the punch list![ATTACH] Now I can put the counter on, hook up gas and water lines, along with finishing the cavity for the two burner stove

Barry, that all looks really great. Looks like you’re about ready for a trip (once things are back to near normal). What do you have left and how long before you start camping? Take care and stay healthy.

Quite a bit actually left to do. Biggest issue is to finish center light area, along with buttoning up the underside -finish belly pan, exhaust tunnel for the AC. Make tire holder for spare tire on the A frame. Finish copper tops for nightstands. Curtains, and on and on. Oh yea polish. We were planning on going to Int. AS rally in Colorado , but with that cancelled not exactly sure where/when we will go camping. Your plans?

It’s the punch list items at the end of a rebuild that seems to take the longest time. I still haven’t completely figured out the shower pan so that’s not finished.
We cancelled a couple of trips here in Texas as the result of park closures. We have reservations at the vintage rally at Pismo Beach in May, but I’m sure that’ll be cancelled as well. We’re hanging here at home taking care of projects like painting the fence posts and gates, cutting cedar, putting together another bat house, working on a stained glass project, etc. There’s plenty to keep us busy and away from town. Take care

It seems someone has to drop out before a spot opens up. You need to get on the waiting list. It took us about a year to get a spot. Once we had our spot, we just renew the same location before we leave there. It’s amazing the vintage trailers that attend and the renovations people have done. With everyone in the same spot each year, you get to know your neighbors.

We had contacted Mike Keenan at mike@mkconstruction.co to get on the list. He had the master list and sent us the registration forms. I hope this info is still good. It was in 2016 when we contacted Mike and got on the list.
