2014 classic 30 tv location

We didn't care for the location of the tv in our airstream. It was too far from the couch and if anyone was sitting at the booth they would block your view. Our solution was to move the tv to the credenza. Then we had to deal with the holes the mount created and extend the hdmi and audio cables to reach the new location.Click image for larger version

That's where mine is too. PO ordered the AS without a tv, so I didn't have holes to deal with.

Had to extend the audio and hdmi cables under the booth in the existing wire harness chase. The holes in the wall are covered with 1/4" hickory plywood shown on the refrigerator wall. I also moved the outlets on the wall closer to the widows and eliminated the cable connection. There was already a cable jack under the credenza.

I think the older Classic 30's came with the TV on the credenza - at least that is where ours was when we bought the trailer abut three years old. Looked like an original installation, and We like it fine there. Wonder why they decided to move it to the wall?

I'm guessing they moved it to the wall to standardize the wiring with the classic 31 that does not have a credenza. The refrigerator wall in that model is also several feet closer to the couch.

I like the TV on the credenza. Just curious, is the TV just placed there, or is it actually drilled into the credenza to hold it in place?

I just have placed there for now. Don't really want to drill holes in the countertop. I might try using Velcro to hold it in place.

Ours just sits on the credenza on its own base and we lay it down flat on the floor when we travel - I like placing things on the floor when we travel - coz if you don't, that's where they will wind up anyway!

Thermostat Heater

Nice job moving the TV. Plus you have a bonus, no more thermostat heater. Our TV heats the thermostat and plays heck with the trailer temp. I might look into moving our TV. Thanks for the post. Doug
