Need thoughts on getting used model inspected

Looking to buy a 2013 30ft international in Woodbridge, VA.
Everything looks great but I'd love to have it inspected before we purchase our first airstream. Any thoughts on how to get that done? Thanks, sorry if it's been answered before or a repetitive question. This is our first airstream, we are moving from a house into fulltime. we want to make sure we do it right. Appreciate it. Sorry I just realized I posted this in the wrong section.

Wow. I'm nervous you live in CA and are shopping for a trailer sitting in VA. That's a long ways to travel to inspect, buy and bring home....it's worth several thousand dollars IMO to shop closer to home.... but if you're determined that's the one for you, you're wise to get someone knowledgeable locally to look at it first.

I'm actually working in Maryland. So it works out pretty well. It's only about an hour or so from me. Don't plan on going back to California for a while. But I just want to make sure I'm making a smart purchase.

I bought my classic in Tennessee, and I am in Billings,Mt. , so if you don't know what to look for, find someone to check it out, mine was only 6 mos old when I found it, so I didn't worry about it..you might find an owner here , that lives close by that would look at it, and give you an opinion...

Go the the WBCCI website and look up the local club units. Contact them and see if they have any members who can inspect if for you. If they don't do formal inspections, they may have members that can look at it and give you an informal check.

Don't worry about how far you travel from California. I also live in Cali and bought our rig in Missouri. That was 4 years ago and it's worth more today than the day we bought it.
Find a dealer or AS specialist in the area and pay for the "Once-over." It's worth it.
We bought our rig from an AS dealer and had a great experience.
Airstreams are SO expensive in California. Buying out of state from a private party or AS dealer is a great way to go. Good luck.

What did California do to you with regard to sales/use taxes when buying out of state?

We contacted a local WBCCI unit and they sent out a request email to their membership. A nice retired man did our inspection, took photographs, and got on the phone with us when he was still on site for some specific questions.

We bought from an individual but he had a dealer's license and placed his dealership name on the title. Because we did not get a sales transaction receipt that showed his business paid the tax we will be responsible for the tax on the original sales price when originally purchased.

Good luck MVD, us and nada research in a 61.
