Ordered new tabs so we can make some curtains! Ours have dry rotted and fell to pieces when ours sat at my grandmothers for years untouched. Hopefully going to get a replacement track within the next week for the front curtains since it was taken out years ago.... fingers crossed!

We keep our ice chest in the camper 100% of the time because it is too heavy to pull in and out. We've just been using it as an ottoman with storage. I decided to spiff it up a bit by topping it with foam and seeing a cover for it with nice indoor/outdoor fabric. I still have to add a solid color band at the bottom but this is basically the end result. I'm pretty happy with my cooler disguised as an ottoman. Ice cold drinks in the ottoman!!

Very nice! BTW, Costco around here is selling a large igloo 7-day ice chest for just under $100, which seems a good deal if you're looking for one. (FYI, I have no affiliation with Costco other than being a customer. )

would you mind posting a few more pictures? I am thinking about adding mud flaps to protect the dump valves. Was considering the DuraFlap kit but would like to see more detail with your installation.

As many on the Forum have noted, the Clarion M502 head unit for the audio in some of the later AS trailers leaves a bit to be desired. And, in some floor plans, the speakers are mounted shooting down, blowing away anyone sitting below them in lounge or in my case, the recliners.

The reason JC designs the audio system this way is IMO totally unexplainable, as I cannot see why they could not place the speakers shooting into the room, not deafening the folks sitting below the forward overhead storage.

Thus, after originally replacing the Clarion speakers with Polk Audio db651s, which improved the sound quality significantly, I decided it was time to do what I consider the correct way to mount the speakers in view of all considerations in the trailer. And, here they are: First, I removed the speakers from the original holes. Then using the mounting gasket, I marked and cut the holes on the vertical face of the overhead compartment, first making certain nothing behind was going to be interfered with, and then mounted the Polk's and filled the hole below with the original Clarion speakers, essentially creating a passive radiator. This actually fills the hole, no sound is admitted of consequence. The results:

This makes such an incredible difference, now the treble portion of the sound can be heard in the cabin, the seats are no longer listening to only one channel, and the overall sound effect is for more balanced out in the main cabin than with the original audio layout.

I will withhold any statements regarding Jackson Center's design staff. But, if someone can give me a reason why the above is not done on the factory units, I would have great interest.

Oh, mud flaps to protect the dump valves...love it. May have to figure out one for my trailer.

In my 2013 Classic the speakers are in the sidewalls firing in to the middle of the trailer in the living room and bedroom. It is still really loud at the front and at the back and barely audible in the middle. Why don't they include an external power amplifier and a third pair of speakers?
I guess I could buy the gear at a car stereo store- or Crutchfield- and do it- have a third pair of speakers in the kitchen/dinette area-

Given Rocinante is a 2014 with the "Chilly Tornado" option above the galley (others might refer to that device as a heat pump), we would probably benefit from a 1,000 watt amplifier and pair of 10" speakers placed amidships.

Great job, looks good in your International. Did you stay with the stock impedance? The 2017 Clsssic now has front facing speakers behind a grill.....the approach that I will consider so the speakers aren't so "in your face" aesthetically.

Yes, the Polk and Clarion speakers are both 4 ohms.

Because my trailer is an empty shell and I'm going camping in to WV I'm boondocking in it. So I got a few things. A flag pole, three large totes for food, airstream stuff, and clothes. I also got laundry pods, lamps, battery op fans, duck tape, screen kits (for holes in screen) some food items, one more tote for leveling stuff for trailer, and small speaker for my phone.

(a) The Mundane: a couple of new, larger Amerex fire extinguishers to keep handy, (b) More Interesting: an order for a new 36' by 48' RV garage (pole barn). Will be good to store the AS out of the weather.

A relatively minor thing. A Hitch Grip. Only used it once this far but it makes installing the hitch into the receiver much easier, and cleaner!
