What is it?

Anybody know what this is? By the windows it looks 1950's. No ID badge or identifiying marks.

Is it something they made you take off their hands in order to get the Airstream you wanted?

No, it is something my wife found. She is thinking of something for Sisters on the Fly.

No offense to our friends from Germany, the Netherlands, etc.... but if you guys chop the sides off one more 1940's Airstream so you can make it into a little "stage"... I swear to God I'll come strangle you myself.

Oh my, that 49 looks like an outstanding candidate for restoration. I, too, hope someone buys it that will respect its history.

bwoodtx-- I don't recognize the lines on that canned ham, there were hundreds or even thousands of small trailer manufacturers in the 40s, 50s, and 60s who made those canned hams. Looks like it would be a good trailer for your wife if she likes it, and I suspect it needs everything frame-up.

Pipe frame

Darn! I love the unscrewed with condition. I just can't bring myself to fight a pipe frame again.

1948 Silver Streak by Clipper

This should be a Best Of Craigslist, so I'll post the full ad for posterity. Don't none of you idiots call and low ball him.

This is a very rare find, its a 1948 Silver Streak 22' trailer its gutted out, has some closets and cabinets still inside, what they done was remove one end of the trailer and made it one of the first fifth wheels around that tows by a gooseneck setup. then put the cut end of the trailer on the fifth wheel and made it 35' long. you can always put it back to its original state if you wanted This silver streak is model # 7. You would need to restore it. the metal all around is in great condition for its age and has most of the windows still in tacked. Its a single axel and has been sitting for nearly 30 years and used as a storage shed. You got to come see this to get the full effect of this classic gem. I have seen 48 silver streak trailers going for up to 38,000 dollars restored, this is truly one of a kind make me an offer thats reasonable, I dont want no idiots with a low ball offer. W ill consider a good Sea Train as part trade you might get away with towing it with its tires, I think you would need to put a set on before tow it away. Call and tell me what you have to trade, we can make this happen

This is my PET PEEVE!!!! Those "experts" call folks and jazz em up....stir the pot....and things go crazy for both seller and buyer. Jerk in Florida deserves a kick in the keester. I see this type at auctions all the time. Jack the price just to see it rise...then bail out....all for the fun of it.

I can't see by the Craig's List listing that it has gone up at all. Where was it listed at a lower price? Really, if this "interesting Craig's List" thread is bad for people buying trailers, why is it here? I'm very confused by how anyone would even know there is a person in Florida who jacked around the seller to raise the price.....am I the only naive one here?

So I take the previous comments back. There IS NO ONE jacking the prices around on the 49 Cruiser! Someone on our forum bought it! http://www.airforums.com/forums/f228...ml#post1138754

So much for all the naysayers!
