Kani, We LOVE that movie!!! There are some classic comedy routines in it. We own it on DVD and laugh every time we've seen it. Make sure you post your impression of it after you see it.

Lucy and Ricky still live.

Yes, that movie has special meaning for me. As some of you know I 'imigrated' to California with my folks and brother in 1952. I was 14. We picked up Route 66 in Illinois and 'road' it all the way to Los Angeles towing a 26' Pan American trailer with our '48 Nash Ambassador. After a short stay in LA we headed to the SF Bay Area via HWY 1. Rte 66 and HWY 1 are filled with 'memories' (glad that I wasn't old enough to drive!). Anyway The Long Long Trailer movie came out a couple of years later. Dad and Mom herded my brother and I into the car (yes the old Nash was still running) and we all went to the movie theater as soon as the movie came to town. Although the 'adventures' of Lucy and Ricky did not mirror our adventure perfectly mom discovered that she could finally laugh at our sometimes scary journey. Yes, I do have a copy of the movie. When our son and daughter are in for visits I have shown it........but I don't think they share my excitement.
Neil.

OBTW; I guess we are today's "Lucy and Ricky' with our convertible and trailer rig as per some friendly comments.

VERY S.L.O.W.! We hope to have the water fixed by the end of the day and then we'll build a pedastal for the turlet and reset the throne.

Then it's on to the kitchen. I would like to have a sink and cabinets in by our Rally in Aug. That is the goal for now. . .funds run low things get put on hold. .I have to laugh when I think how I thought this total remodel would take 1 month . What a moron. . what a maroon!

Tell Diane I said hi. Hope to see you on the road oneday.

You can get the DVD from most Camping World locations...You can also look at Amazon.com for a copy.

I saw it over the weekend, and thought I would fall out of my chair. I have a long, long trailer, and can identify with every mistake they made... especially their long journey up the steep and curvy mountain with Lucy's secrets hidden in the trailer (I won't give it away for anyone who has not seen it). And it is such a riot to hear her calling him Nicky instead of Ricky.
Oh, well... those were the days.

Now that I have watched the movie I know what you are referring to.I loved the movie and especially the part meeting the car on the mountain and the looks on their faces.I also found it interesting the way they were treated when they arrived at the 'trailer park'.

DVR is all set-up.

DW has never seen it.

And I have personal experience with her collecting obsessions.

It's available on DVD from Amazon and other sellers.

Here is a little info with photos on the original of the Long Long Trailer story. It is based on the experiences of Clinton and Merle Twiss as they lived full time in their own long, long Airfloat trailer.

Trailerite.com - Celebrating Clinton Twiss, One of the first Full Time RVers

There is a link on this website to order your own DVD. Go to the home page for more interesting Trailerite info on the DVD and other matters.
