John ,

One of Linda's nieces family went to myrtle beach from here. Checked in to oceanfront hotel and promptly saw a shark from a fishing pier.

I sent them the YouTube link for the scene in Jaws, You're gonna need a bigger boat.

One niece did bring some fine Kolbasa that was made in TX of all places and a nice supply of my favorite brewski Great Lakes, working on a Burning River pale ale right now.

Lisa, we don't have our Airstream yet, either. Hope to by this time next year. All are welcome. We camped in our silver Volvo station wagon at the March Alumalina (we told folks our AS had shrunk in the rain). We will be camping in our Freightliner truck at the fall rally.
The people involved are wonderful and you will have a good time.

We are small, too, and without a tow vehicle, so anyone who wants to sleep in their vehicle or pitch a tent can double up with us.

I know this was allowed last spring, and the sites have adequate room for two vehicles.

Just sayin'......should it be needed, it is there.

I have picked up a special, Doug-commemorative item, for a door prize.

Y'all will smile when you see it. I just had to get it.

Will also bring the Maggie-made, fleece/crochet blankie destined for the door prize pile in March. Cool weather will be coming by then, so timing will be perfect.

I see I need to bring a tent and a chair. I assume I need to bring food and some way to prepare it (charcoal? grills provided?) and drinks (water for day and beer for night? - is alcohol allowed in state parks? ) Some kind of bedding and what else? Would my (seriously, i mean really she is) well behaved dog be an encumbrance? I could bring a crate and crate her in the tent when needed... Do people bring some food to share? What else?

I don't think well behaved dogs are allowed. It makes the rest of us with dogs look bad.

Bring everything necessary for sustaining life for however long you are there.

There will be dogs a-plenty, behavior varies.

Lily now has a harness and very short leash for high-stimulation environments, so those who find her alpha-ness particularly obnoxious should have less to worry about this time.

There will be shared meals, and John will post about those.

Going to be fun. Looking forward to it.

And the tent would be the pop up variety to add to others to make a larger covered area in the event of rain. It's okay if you don't have one, but if you do, bring it along.
It poured on and off the entire time during spring Alumalina, so the tents were used extensively.

What's the weather like at the fall edition? Looks like equal probability of 90s and 40s, best I can tell from NWS.

Yeah Beth and Chris!

Weather should be pristine - don't expect 40's, end of September should be perfect, guess 80's during day, 60's at night. Campfire weather.

Beth and Chris, congrats on nailing the last site, #65. Georgia was very well represented back in March. A bit of a haul but worth it. As the name of the Park implies, it is on a lake...actually an island, so plenty of water.

We will be posting some details later but expect more of the same. Great folks, in a great setting, nothing less than a great time.

Just a look ahead:

The park is full, last count I think about 40 Airstreams. If you look at Chucks map, the known attendees are in the silver trailers, unknown in the black. A good chance some of the black trailers are actually Airstreamers who are registered with the Park but not on our list.

Last minute change of plans often unfortunately result in some cancellations. So if you need a site, don't give up. Check daily.

If you do need to cancel, the Park requests that we handle the change ourselves if possible. Just exchange the info and $$ with the new owner. That way an Airstreamer gets the site, no one gets the cancellation fee, everyone is happy (except the original owner...they are bummed).

Last March we had a waiting list, maybe we have one this Sept also.. If so, we will post it here, then first come, first served. You can PM me with your cancellation, I will try to hook someone up.

As for the weather, we generally have our best in the Fall. Usually dry,
not hot ,but still on the warm side. Hopefully DRY!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

John
