Add a window to door frame

Any advice on putting a window where there was none? I want to add a window, fixed or operating, to our 73 Arogosy's door. I believe I actually saw this on a polished Argosy on Andy's lot.

Has anyone done this? I ave put a classified add looking for a small kitchen window, but got no response.

Any advice is appreciated.

Main door windows are available that match the rest of the windows.

Adding a window is the easy part.

Installing the window "close out" takes a little more talent, but is not a tough job.

There are different size door windows as well as clear or frosted.

If you decide on a clear glass, you will also have to install a shade, which adds to the task.

Still, not a biggie.

You will also need some Olympic rivets and a tube of Vulkem sealer.

I think it was Zep that had a great thread on adding a window....his came from an airplane. Very appropriate.

It's on my to do list. I am using a smaller front middle side window from a Tradewind. The lower front Tradewind will also work. Others have used porthole or other boat windows.

Any idea on where this thread resides? I have been unable to find one...

Andy, would Airstream install a window if I shipped them the door?
