Thanks, Terry & fricad5! I would rather buy one of these now, and not worry, than have the door fly open in transit and wish I had....
I still wonder if anyone with a newer Airstream has had this happen.... We always double-lock the door. We have some potholes in our highways that will knock your teeth out, and our door has never opened....I cannot say the same about some of the drawers

I know of at least one Airstreamer with a newer wide body AS who wished he had put the "doorstop" in place. I viewed the damage from the door coming open while in transit. Also while at the International this year I saw two doors come open in the parade of the vintage trailers as they made the turn into the parking area.

I don't know if anyone has had issues with the newer trailer doors commin open but I dont take any chances with my old trailer .
We did have a lite brown rubber door stop kickin around ,I drilled a hole(1/2 wood drill) in the thick end and found a bungie cord with a plastic ball on the end to keep it tyed to the hand rail when in transit and to hang it just inside the door when not in use. We always have lock the door with a key because the PO said it had come open once when he was movin the trailer around and suggested we always keep it locked while in transit. The door stop wedges in really tight and leaves no marks on the skin. Thanks for that Idea whom ever though of it and I still have my fingers from not Whittling.

Anyone with a lot of free time and a bandsaw ever thought of making these "Hickies" and offering them "for sale"? I would buy one! Especially if they are Airstream Blue!......Anyone? The market must be thousands.....

Making these would be fairly easy although each trailer's dimensions would be different so a 'doohickey' would need to be custom made for each trailer.
I really like the cutting board idea.

I liked the rubber doorstops with the bungie through them. Couldn't be much simpler, cost you less than $5 and you could make it by hand in about 5 minutes. If I ever lose my 'vintage' one, that's what I'll replace it with.

When the women out there chime in, it will become a "little Thingy".

I use one just like that to reach inside my pants and pull my shorts up while standing in line to check out at Wal-Mart.
