Bargman L100 lock 63 Safari

My 63 Safari has a L-100 lock that doesn't latch! The extension is 1/2" but is from the inside of the door mounting, There is a nylon striker plate on the trailer door frame that extends 1/4" into the opening, but has a clear opening where the striker would catch on the aluminum exterior. Is there a special L-100 with a slightly longer extension?
Should I build up the striker plate so door latches?
The L-100 has a slight opening on the right side of the external handle, 1/16", so I assume the L-100 was not the original lock. What's available?

The L-100 was standard on a 63.

Sounds like your striker pocket is broken.

Your right again! I ordered, Inland rv shipped, I received today and installed! Door and dead bolt close nicely!!!! Ordered late tuesday, I expected next week coming from California but 72 hours later its installed!
