Helping with solar on a '67

I'm helping someone install solar panels on the roof of her 1967 Airstream. She wants to live in it full-time, so she's like a modern system with about 500 - 600 watts of solar.

I've read that the skin on the Airstream is .032" (0.8mm) thick. Given that, any tips on attaching the panels? Use the frame (rivet lines) I'm guessing?

She's thinking about going frameless for weight savings and aesthetics. Is that common for Airstreams? Has a mounting solution been worked out? Or better off using traditional framed panels?

Or maybe she should consider flexible? Are there flexible panels with modern specs (200 - 250 watts, ~36 volts)?

Any tips on mounting, and wiring?

Thanks for any help.

There is a LOT of information on various threads about solar installations on Airstreams. There are some professional installers who are regulars on the forum. My impression is that modern installation methods use a variety of 3M VHB tape to attach the panels to the skin without drilling new holes, and that flexible panels give up enough in efficiency to more than balance their ease of installation, but all this is just from reading about it. I can't claim any personal expertise. Use the advanced search option under Search for solar installations (assuming yous're using a real browser and not a mobile device.)

Ugh, I thought this forum had a delete feature. Sorry about this, but mod, if you happen to read this, please delete this thread, I started a new one with a more clear subject line.
