I Love Lucy

Those look like buck rivets on the interior skins? Or are they Olympics?
Very nice. I really like the microwave and cooktop setup

I used Olympics, I don't like the way pop rivets look. A little more expensive but worth it IMO

Dinette

I feel like progress has slowed to a crawl, but the dinette is taking shape. The hay bale garden is the reason for the slow progress on Lucy, but now it's planted and growing, so I ought to be able to focus more attention on the old gal. The new switch plates arrived (cracked a few posts back) so I'll get them installed, and I'm going to slightly rewire the main panel when I do. I'll detail the modification when I do it.

First pic is the dinette underway, second is the working stove, third pic is the reason Lucy hasn't seen a lot of love the last few weeks

Electrical Panel Re-Do

Several posts back I posted some pics where I cracked the toggle switch panels on my main electrical panel (pic 2). No bueno. I decided to reorder them and move some things around in my electrical panel:

1. The first panel is the same, just slightly relabeled

2. The second panel is different as follows:
a. Tank and propane monitor are now on one switch
b. All vents are now on one switch
c. I have an Aux switch for the future
d. Gas and electric water heater switches have been separated so that I can turn both gas and electric on at the same time to heat water quickly

3. I decided the propane sensor was too high off of the floor so I'm going to move it lower. I filled the hole with a name plate.

This is the third time I've moved stuff around in the main electrical panel and I think I've finally gotten it right. Never give up on perfection

When Everyone's OCD Kicks in at the Same Time

So I've lined up all of the phillip's heads, but I notice that the top right screw is slightly off square. This bugs me, but I can only see it in pictures, not on the trailer. Hopefully I'll forget it. The two toggle switch panels look slightly off, but this is only in pictures, I've taken a straight edge and checked them: they are correct. The bigger issue that I see now is that the WFCO electrical panel is brown, and everything else is black. This really bugs me, and I might paint it black.

Thanks guys, really. Thank you so much for kicking my OCD in. If you keep it up, Lucy will never be finished

First of the doors going on

I installed the bathroom door this weekend. I chose 3/8" overlay hinges for the doors to match what was in the trailer, and I'm not sure I love them, but I don't hate them either. The biggest problem is that they were expensive, but they don't look expensive. The screws are lined up for Islandtrader and Jhiner Anyway, the only thing left for the bathroom to be 100% is to hang the mirror on the back of the door, and I'm off to paint some more doors...

Door Hardware

I found these nifty cabinet locks/pulls on a marine site. I love the way the look and the way they work

Good choice, I like them. These are the same Knobs/latches that came in our 98 Safari.

Dinette

The dinette is coming along nicely, it won't be long before I'm ready for upholstery. In between building the dinette and painting the rest of the doors I put together Lucy's toolkit. What am I missing?

Tools

Since nearly everything on our Argosy is fastened with rivets- a cordless drill, screwdriver tips, drill bits, pop rivet tool and a handful of assorted rivets are a must

Lucy is in the House

Ohhhhhhh Luuuuuuuuuucyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Lucy has found her place, and hopefully she'll be immortalized here for the next 50 years before someone buys this 1957 Airstream and does another restoration. At least they won't have to do a shell-off because of the marine grade solid gold...I mean plywood subfloor. The chandelier is stowable for traveling, but adds a nice touch for romantic dinners with the wife. I've ordered LED candles for it, but we can put regular candles in it too if we're feeling dangerous. The wife is most definitely not into camping, so everything must be upscale to entice her. So far she likes what she sees. The dinette is coming along nicely, I'll probably finish it in the next week or so. Still painting doors. I hate to paint.
