I Love Lucy
Yeouch! I bet a new set of knives will also be needed. I would have tried splitting the boards with a tall fence on the bandsaw and planing from there.
I’ll bet it’s going to look really nice...remember pictures!

I Love Lucy
I have a bunch of 1.5"x1.5" teak. I plan on using it in my bathrooms as well but just on the floor. Probably plenty to go around. They used it to package up hammock from Asia. It's like pine over there.

That was a new set of knives, but yep, it's going to need another new set. I really thought it would be OK because I took 1/4" off in six passes
Anyway, here's a pic, and I like how it turned out, it really warms the bathroom up. I was going to do a Corian countertop to match the kitchen, but I think I'm going to do an IPE countertop to match the wall

Looks great, what is the white fabric that seems to be behind it stapled to the corner? Some type of waterproofing?

What's behind
Yes, it's 4 mil plastic. I was going to rout the IPE into shiplap, but after almost burning up my planer I decided not to. Instead I put 4 mil plastic behind the IPE and a small bead of silicone between each board. It should be waterproof

The planer still works!
I found this fantastic piece of 100 year old reclaimed long leaf pine, and it's just the right amount to make the bathroom countertop. It was torn out of a cotton gin built in the 1860's just south of here. I planed it down to 1 1/2" tonight and hopefully I'll be able to fabricate it into the countertop this weekend. I should be able to stain it to match the IPE.
The second pic is Lucy all lit up. The old gal is coming to life

I know this is after the fact...but on that type a wood 1/4 inch is like taking 1/2 inch off on anything else. When I plane the motto is "less is more" ...
Other than that it is looking real good!👍

Bathroom countertop
The bathroom countertop is finished and fitted, it just needs to be screwed and glued in place. I've gone back and forth on whether or not to use this reclaimed longleaf pine countertop, or to go with white Corian, but my wife likes the wood, so that's what we'll go with. The wood tones look like a mismatch in this picture, but they look great in person. I'll spend today installing it and buttoning up details in the bath.

Bathroom floor
I didn't order the correct drain for the sink so I wasn't able to finish the bath, but I did manage to build an IPE floor mat for the bathroom floor.

Looks great, are you not too concerned with the counter with the wet/humidity of the shower?

I'm not overly concerned, I put three coats of spar varnish on the reclaimed pine so it should be good, but I'm still going back and forth on wood vs Corian for aesthetic reasons. Reclaimed longleaf pine is beautiful, dense wood, but with the dark stain it looks like it could be regular old yellow pine. My wife loves it, but it kind of bugs me. The biggest upside IMO is that it's a warm surface to prop your arm on when you're doing your business. I think a white Corian countertop with the white toilet and white medicine cabinet would look great against the stainless and the IPE wall and floor. What to do, what to do

No truer words islandtrader, gotta keep the girl happy.
The kitchen cabinet base is in and I'll start on the face frame tomorrow. The gray box is my solution to the screw up awhile back RE: exterior shower. If you'll remember, I installed a beautiful stainless steel transom shower, not realizing that transom showers don't have to be waterproof. This one leaks like a sieve, but the box I built captures the water and directs it to the bath floor. The box is made of wood, but it's coated with fiberglass resin, and is waterproof. It's tested, and it works.
The second pic is the bed area, which is coming along quite nicely.

Lucy's Namesake Came In Today
Look what Santa brought: Lucy! Lucy (the Airstream) is, of course, named after Lucille Ball, one of my favorite childhood stars. I remember anxiously waiting for the show to come on when I was a kid, because I thought Lucy was the funniest person on the planet. My mom loved the show as much as I did, so she would come in and watch it with me, and we would laugh together hysterically on the couch. Lucille Ball brings back memories of a simpler time, when good was good, and evil was evil; when Andy, Opie, Barney and Aunt Bee kept the peace in Mayberry; when Red Skelton signed off each night with, 'God Bless'. Mom is in a home, now, with advanced Alzheimer's, some days she doesn't even know who I am, but the memories of laughing with Lucy, and with her on the couch remain. My mom was an elegant woman, movie star beautiful, so I chose an elegant picture of Ball from the 40's. It'll remind me of the great times laughing together with an elegant woman that I called 'Mom'.

Kitchen Cabinet
Thanks Hittenstiehl.
One more thing: the kitchen cabinet is coming along quite nicely, despite the busy holidays and the cold weather. Microwave is going below the stove, with sink to the left. After I finish the kitchen cabinet I have the following left to do:
Dinette
Countertops
Cabinet Doors
Mattress
Upholstery
Curtains
Fridge
Propane Tanks
Polish
I may actually complete a Full Monty in two years
