Update

I haven't been to busy on the GT since the rally. I did (Friday) measure up the old axle and drove north to our Dexter dealer and ordered a new axle, it should be in on the 29th of this month. I also went to our local SOB dealer and had a nice chat with the parts person there about door latches. I have the high dollar KT latch on my entry door and refuse to pay the price for either the rebuild kit or new latch with known problems. The counter person brought out every latch they had in stock and let me measure them. I finally found one that would work with the stock striker pocket and bought it for 41 dollars. It even has a deadbolt that will also work with the stock sticker. I will be posting on the installation when I reskin the door. I have the new skins cut and I just need to get caught up with the Honey Do's before I can get started.

I suspect a $41 solution to the hideously overpriced OEM door locks will win you many friends 'round these forums. Please, post soon!

I just took a call from Redneck Trailer suppy informing me that my new Dexter Axle is ready for pickup. Yippy Ki-yah you know what I will be doing this weekend. It won't be putting in a new axle as I promised my wife that I would help with her garage sale, bummer.

Is your Airstream in your driveway? If so, you can do BOTH!

Call if you require extraction to a safe point.

I,m leaving work now (I took the afternoon off, you know family sick day or it could be called holiday leave) to go pick up the axle. If you don't hear back from me I am most likely in the grovelling position so don't send out the search parties just yet.

I took the power from the number 4 engine which supplies 60 KVA 115vac 400hz 3 phase. I use phase A to power the 8 frequecy converters, Phase B I run thru 2 100amp transformer rectifiers for the 28vdc and phase C is used for 28vac and 12vdc.
Oh, sure, you can do all that on a C130, but don't forget, an Airstream is a completely different animal...

(joking!)

Well I have the new axle and it sure is pretty sitting in the back of my Pickup. I got home and the pump had failed on our backyard water feature, sooo back on the road and 4 "C" notes later a new 3200 gph pump now resides in the pond. I didn't win much with the quick pump replacement (saving lots of fish) but I can at least start the axle replacement Sunday. I have to go pick up the GT at by dads tomorrow
