Maiden voyage completed
We just returned from our first outing in our new 2015 Airstream 30 Flying Cloud FB Bunk. The trip was from western Washington to southern Utah and back. We recently traded in our "old" 2014 Cougar High Country 319 RLS (box trailer) that was nearly impossible to tow due to it's height and length.
The Airstream towed like a dream behind our 2005 Ford Excursion, which has been retrofitted with heavier duty suspension (that of the F250 Super Duty), Airlift airbags in the rear and the Blue Ox equalizing hitch assembly.
We did incur one issue on the trip, our furnace seems to have failed. One cold night, we were wakened by a foul odor. Best described as a burning skunk. Thank goodness for the heat pump option on this unit.
We will soon be outfitting our new Airstream with a bicycle rack or two, as we need to carry 3-4 bikes. I have been reading up on the options and owner experiences.
We look forward to meeting other Airstream'ers and future vacations in our silver bullet!
