New Member/Operator

Hello all and hope this finds you and all of yours doing wonderfully! I am the Proud Operator of 'CDAndy' a new to the family(04/03/15), fully Restored/Rennovated(2014) 1967 AS Globetrotter 20.
I became Medically Disabled in early 40's, 5 years ago, with Antibody Deficiency Syndrome IgG (very difficult to fight infections-especially viruses. Supposed to limit human contact/exposures=Bubble Boyish-so cannot travel conventionally) and some Autoimmune Syndromes as well causing IBD/IBS(gone from 228lbs to 165lbs on 6' 4" frame), Chronic Pain and Fatigue, weird bodywide Neuropathy and limb weaknesses (need cane), Tremor, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Syndrome (Do not tolerate Oral Medications and need to limit Environmental Exposures) and yada, yada, yada.

I am not 'feeble' but life can be a challenge. Since I have stabilized but continue to slowly decline, I have decided to stop the 'act' of living, being just that...an act... and to start living life again, such as it is, to fulfill my heart, soul and lifelong dream to travel, living mobile. Alternative of allowing them all to continue to die off while wasting away is unacceptable to me. I will be fulltiming(with Drs. blessings) and want to serve as a Camp Host as much and as long as I can. Seeing whatever glorious beauty this land holds to appreciate!

I plan to be out of sticks and bricks in 2-3 weeks. Have previously always been very active in and outdoors and have done summer long, cross country trips, in compact vehicles, pitching a tent/lean to every night and etc. So not a neophyte to the lifestyle.

Who knows, maybe getting out of the City, sticking my toes in the dirt and breathing fresh air, just might be the ticket. ; D Can't hurt, might help, and beats the heck out of sitting in front of TV....

Cheers! Kevin

Welcome

A healthy diet, exercise, and your positive attitude will keep you Globe Trottin' for many years. Sounds like you've formulated an ideal plan to affront your disability.

And... You couldn't have chosen a better companion for your journey than a '67 GT. Clearly the best little camper in the world. I won't go on and on with accolades about how fine the old GTs are, but you've made a great decision.

Folks on this forum are supportive and generous and determined to help each other.

Happy Trails...

Welcome. While the trailer is fantastic - your decision to not "act" at this amazing and fragile game of life is even greater as it's just full of wisdom.

I'm sure there are 'Streamers of all stripes along the spectrum of abilities from full to some limitations. We all try to put what we've got to good use :-)

Very best of everything to you. Hope to see you on the road someday!

Appreciate the support and well wishes to no end! I refuse to feel sorry for myself nor do I want others to for me. The words of encouragement and support are huge, heartfelt and helps stoke the fires! Thanks so much. : D
