Hi Doorgunner
You can enjoy Spam Musubi even when you are not fortunate enough to be in Kauai: go to
whatscookingamerica.net/History/Spam.htm. The Hawaiians even have a little Spam press thingy they use to make it. I was forced to eat Spam as a child and can't look at it now without becoming nauseous, but I'm sure it has its appeal. If I tried Spam Musubi I would probably like it.

Spoiling my thunder..

I guess I'll have to post this piccy now since the Spam subject has been broached. I posted this 4 years ago on the Casini thread for my 70th birthday. My birthday is in a couple three weeks. Now I need to create another birthday 'cake'.

Neil.

I find it strange that I really like Spam only when camping. I grill it and top it with cheese, lettuce and condiments as if it were a hamburger. I've tried this at home.......but it's not the same.

WHO in their right mind would do that?? it's already cooked, no need to boil it or submerge it in salt water. just pop open the can and chomp down.
I do remember back in the day, working night shift on the flight line and we would heat up all kinds of "stuff" on the exhaust manifolds of the tugs.Spam seemed to hold up best, comes it its own pot and serving tray. How sweet is that!!
some nascar truck race tonight. can't wait till sundays Daytona 500.
Think I'll start off race day with Huevos Spamcheros and a Pacifico.

You need to just forget about the Spamcheros and Pacifico's and start working on the Motorhomio...

I will hang out with you and drink the Pacifico and watch... and learn...

I think it's a corollary to wanting Bacon at Burningman. Not sure that Spam would be quite the same. Good memory of Bart cooking bacon in their quanset hut on playa.
