Just build them, Jim!
One of these days I'd love to join y'all for Falluminum or Springstream, the campsite looks great, and I suspect the reservoir lakes are in pretty good shape now?

I've already built the beds, just waiting on the foam for the mattresses to show up (already ordered). Gotta have some place to rest my (our) old bones.
What Susan and I have learned over the years is that the week of the world series is usually pretty good for "leafing" up in that area. Susan's Mom has a house about 60 miles east of the camp site. I get to miss the world series, Susan gets see the leaves. I think Alan hit it just right this year.
Lakes are full. Bring that new baby and get up here!
Jim
On edit: Oh yea, I do have XM radio for The Series.

extra site maybe
OK I will know after this weekend if I have an extra site, my daughter and her family were to come with us and she told me tonight they may not, that she would decide by the weekend while she was visiting us. So after the weekend maybe I will have an extra site in the airstream section. I will let you guys know as soon as I know.

Hello JVW!
I remember meeting you at one of the previous rallies. I hope you find a site - it will be good to see you again.

I called the campground this AM about the campfires. Section A does not allow them, unless you bring an elevated one with a screen lid. We're set.
Can't wait to carve my airstream pumpkin this year... Might need to find a long skinny one so i can do my liner!

Hey Sugarfoot We will bring pics from our rally for you to look at.As you read on our thread everybody had a great time. For first time cook they did a GOOD job on cooking. We will see you at Falluminum soon.
We have friends coming with a SOB. Trying to talk them into an Air Stream. This will be their first time camping in a long time. Bring your Volcano with you. I have an extra Mair lid lifter for sale. I'll bring it for you.

Hey that would be nice to see another classic at some rallies. Most of the time we are the only ones. I have a 1987 Air Stream 345. We are on site A7. See you there.

Hi Alan, I have a 4 burner stove top that I took out of Regina's trailer. I want to start using it with bottled gas. I need to find an adapter to go from the tank to the stove. Any ideas? I'd start bringing it to the rallies. I have three cast iron griddles to use on it. Good for eggs and stuff.

NC-175/GA-75 is a good road. So it NC-69/GA-17, which takes you on the west side of the lake.
There has been construction on US-64 on the east side of Murphy for a few years. Not sure if it's currently on-going. US-64 has a couple of tight places along that path, but it sure is scenic.

Jvw (and anyone else),
If you are coming through Franklin, NC (just north of Hiawassee - maybe 25-30 minutes) there is a FANTASTIC restaurant in downtown Franklin called Caffe Rel. Pay no attention to the fact that it is in a convenience gas station. The food (lunch or dinner) is fabulous (crab soup - evil it is so good). This would be a great take if there are those who don't want to cook on Friday night. Go early - not lots of seating, and crowded because everyone there knows how good it is.

I won't be at Falluminum this year, boo hoo. I just got confirmation of my schedule at work and I cannot get the time off. Someone else had already requested the weekend off, and my request was denied. Unfortunately, since we are short staffed, there isn't enough personnel to allow two of us off, or to switch schedules.
I PMed JVW to see if he would want the spot I reserved (F8, closer to the Pavilion). I will call next week to postpone my reservation to a later date.

Well, our XM has a broadcast feature. Maybe we could all tune to the "Seriously Sinatra" channel. On second thought, maybe not. Only us old farts would enjoy that.
