This is a great rally for family to attend - great weather, large mature trees for shade, the cooling waters of the river right at your door step and lots of great Airstreamers, some to get reacquainted with and some to make new friends. The other day we officially got our 10th attendee. This guarantees the special "rally rate" for the event.

This will be our last Texas rally for the foreseeable future since as of this past Monday the Army has reassigned Amy to a new unit up north. We hope to have a great time before leaving in early July.

We are in site 323. Lockhart BBQ sounds good for Friday Night. Still planning on a potluck for Saturday? If so I will bring a Dutch Oven Cobbler (16") that should be enough for about 30+. Would really be good if someone wants to bring some Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. However, if another fire ban is on we may need to rethink our dish or cook it in the oven at the clubhouse.

Cobbler is always a great idea. I will look into the fire ban status, but you could cook at the clubhouse if news be. We can take a vote on Lockhart as we get closer since many people will be arriving late on Friday due to work. Glad you two could make it. Remind me again where in Arkansas you will be residing? The Branson rally twice a year would be great to catch up at, and isn't too far if you are near Little Rock.

They are held every spring and fall. Next is May 5th, and then the next is October.

There is a really large chance that I will also be in a "rental" white box trailer, so they won't have any trouble from me.

At other rally events I have hosted, we would just tape some aluminum foil to the side of their trailer .

Sam,

You will have a great time. Ask Vaughn how he enjoyed himself in 2007 when he drove up! Amy and I used to host that rally twice a year for three years before we had to sell our trailers (when Amy moved to Texas. It was reinitialized by a fellow forum camper for the past three seasons. We will likely try to make it in the fall when we are in Springfield. I am planning to resume hosting duties a year from now at the Spring Rally.

As for now we are focusing on me getting to San Antonio in 17 days and preparing to get ready for the move and to take my license exam.

Unfortunately Roseann & I have had to cancel. Just too much going on. May come up for the day and toob though.

While I am bummed to hear about Bruce and Rosanne...as well as Whitsend having to cancel, I am happy to see new people making plans to attend.

I am also happy to say that the Army is NOT moving us for at least another year, and we plan to host many more rally events this and next year. We just couldn't leave the state without camping with our good friends a few more times.

Spots are on hold for another 2 weeks. Make you reservations soon or risk missing out.

Oh to be in Texas in only 10 days....magnificent!

Yeah...I've known about Bruce and Rosanne for a week when I called up to the Park to get numbers. Jim called me today and let me know that his trailer was sold, and he couldn't make it to camp. He does however plan to stop in for some conversation, food, and handing out $100 bills to all those in attendance .

I have not put anything up about the potluck because we are still teetering on the edge of viability for this rally. I decided last week to not make T shirts. I know that people are letting plans fall into place right now, but how about you start us off on the potluck list?
