Ha! That's Deputy Festus...and a mighty smart pic of him I might add. he left this world before Festivus was created...but it is a Festivus miracle that you remembered him.

Hey John,
I see a few from SE Camping have had to drop out. I hope the sites have gone to those on the wait list. Does everyone have a site that wants one now?
Really getting close now. See you Thursday. Can't wait.

Yes they have Kathy, the waiting list is now down to 1. The staff at the park requests that since the park is full and there is a waiting list for our group, to handle the changes amongst ourselves. That way no one looses any money in cancellation fees.
Some , but not all, of the changes have come to me, I just went down the list in the order they were posted looking for a site.
Only a week away.

John, is there a spot our Saturday night replacements can park while they wait for us to leave? We'll probably be pulling out about 2:00-2:30, and if they can park somewhere close, they can begin participating earlier.

Terry, there is always the parking lot at the office/marina. It is very big, lots of room, and only a 2 minute walk to the Campground.
We have been to Wateree many times on "sold out" weekends and there are ALWAYS open sites. They may be reserved but there are always no shows. A bit risky, but I would almost bet the farm there would be a temporary site available.

Anyone else watching the weather forecast? I guess I have been since we are tent camping. Right now, the prediction is 90% rain on Friday and 80% on Saturday. Be prepared to walk your ducks!

I don't have that much confidence in the predictions for this weekend, much less next weekend. But you make a good point - we need to be ready for any weather and will definitely want those tents; you know, to avoid getting our hair frizzy (I worry about that a lot).

I have naturally frizzy hair. Kind of looks a lot like my avatar, only with more curl. I'm just wondering if I should invest in a pair of Wellies. My old shrimp boots gave up the ghost awhile back.

Our local forecast is for up to several inches of snow for this coming Tuesday. I hope most of it will be melted by Friday.
For those ordering parts for delivery, the cutoff will be 3:00pm Thursday. That way, I can get everything loaded into the truck before we go home for the day.

I don't think that we'll be able to make it to Springstream, but it was good meeting you at Hunting Island and thanks again for rigging the gift exchange so that we could win your camper/birdhouse!

I need help. I mean, the trailer needs help and I need help to help it. Well, you know what I mean.
The ZipDee awning hasn't been out for 6 or more years. When I tried to pull it open, apparently the rust on the rollers was stronger than I was. Should I try to spray some penetrating oil or WD40 into the ends?
At Alumilina, can I get help opening this stubborn thing?
Thanks, Phil.

Hinge screws loose
A while back someone (John, maybe) posted about door issues. I looked at mine, and it has issues.
The two large Phillips head screws accessible from outside are loose on the bottom hinge. When I tried to tighten them, they just turn without stop ("da boat a dem"). I assume there is/was a plate with two threaded holes in the jamb. I presume since the screws don't tighten up, that plate is not behind the hinge area anymore, but instead is rattling around on the bottom rail. If that is true, I would like to fix it. Actually, I'd like to fix the hinge whether that is true or not.
Any help would be appreciated.
Phil

I would try some rust buster stuff, WD 40 is ok but not so much for that. PB BLaster is a good one

The door hinge screws have hidden nuts inside the door frame. Holding your nuts in that instance will probably require removing at least part of a panel and possibly drilling two holes to gain access.
