I think i see 2 on mine, one on each side underneath near the front cabled together. If placed for weight balance i will credit AS for good engineering.
But we need a more opinions.

I think you mean chassis batteries in your example above.

The Mercedes chassis battery is under the floor in front of the drivers seat. There are no batteries under the hood of my 2020 19.

Thank you. I looked under both driver's and passenger's seat and it looks like there is a battery under each one and they are connected. Not sure if this is correct and, if so, if both of these are for the Airstream. It looks like you can access the battery terminals under the passenger seat by lifting the velcroed flap that faces the door.

PREEDTX - I'd say you have it right. But the owners manual is a bit confusing at it seems to indicate there is only "a" (one) coach battery. See first attached clip from owners manual. But the wiring diagram and parts list clearly indicate there are two coach batteries, one on each side near the entry steps. See other attached clips from wiring diagram in owners manual and parts book.

Thanks, i guess my degree in Electrical Engineering finally paid off.

BTW, The AS 19 web page specs does say 2 coach batteries.

Two AGM Lifeline batteries. Under the chassis. One on each side of the coach, on their sides. Terminals facing the center of the vehicle.

2020/2019 AI 19 owners, does anyone know if the battery box is large enough to replace the 12v batteries with 6v batteries? I'm looking to upgrade to 2x 6v because the 2x 12v aren't getting me through the night with just the heater and refrigerator running in night mode. The generator is constantly kicking on.

The 6v Lifeline GPL-4CT is 10.28L x 7.06W x 9.92H
The 12v Lifeline GPL-24T is 11.13L x 6.6W x 9.25H

The 6 volt battery will not fit the AI 12 battery box/tray. Maybe with modification. There is a message thread in this group about the house battery tray breaking off while driving. The owner had changed to the heavier 6 volt batteries. I searched but didn't find the thread.

TN - your comment applies to the larger Interstates with batteries mounted under van behind the rear axle.

But jhayesas is asking about an Interstate 19, built on short Sprinter, that have the batteries under van near front door steps. I don't know if they have the same battery trays. Someone with more knowledge than I have about the 19 needs to reply.

Arti (Jackson Center OH) from AS service department informed me that my rig won't fit a 6V battery and the battery tray will have to be customized to fit. Needless to say, it's an extremely expenses proposition for 2x 6V and a custom house battery tray.

Talking MB Owners Manual

The VS 30 (‘19 IS) manual is quite tricky and humorous at times......it’s obviously written to cover every imaginable VS 30 variant made
