U-Speed nut
In our efforts to develop the new LED upgrade LED-kit2 for the 4.25 Monarch (Lens now made my Grote) we ran across a interesting find that we felt would be a benefit to the Airstream community. It is a U-shaped speed nut that repairs the plastic holder for the lights. For a better understanding of what I'm talking about please see pictures below.
The 4.25 Monarch light
The problem
The fix
How it looks
You could use this if your holes are enlarged from taking the screws in and out. Also, if yours were broken like in the above pictures your would want to seal it.
This will keep you from using the rubber seal and would need to be sealed with some type of sealer but be a easier repair than replacing the bracket. Black silicon would work. Don't let it touch your metal.

Interesting use for tinnerman nuts. Thanks for the tip. I will probably upgrade these to LED when I get finished with the door flood light I got from you and after I install some LED marker lights.

They can be found at most automotive stores, although it seems like their hardware sections are always difficult to navigate. I have also bought them online from McMaster Carr before when I needed a specific size and clearance. If you have problems finding them let me know.
I find I need them when I do disassembly on 10-20 yr old vehicles with lots of plastic pieces that can break, although the quality on plastic materials in newer vehicles has drastically improved.
Looks like a great application Dan!!

This u-shaped speed nut is not needed for the new LED-kit2. Most units will have the right size holes and the new kit will work fine with the factory stainless steal screws that came with the unit.

Ok thanks yet again, The wife just told me the kit made it to the house today, so the shipping is quick.
Ill PM you and let you know how it works out for me in the end. Will be around Christmas.
