Tough Enough, Yet Missing A Family Member...
Christmas in our new home, ( without wheels ) out in LA. California. Just not the same as brother Fred was deployed and away serving in the Marines on Okinawa.
We did have a picture of him at his barracks on the mantel tho.
Pictured with sister Doña.

Wow that picture is so poignant and touching. It's all been an amazing photo documentary and journey with you and your family.
I hope you are over your bout of the flu.
You still have the trailer in the last picture? Any interior or camping shots?

Now, ( wheel interested ) as in Carol, has added so much insight into some of the old photos soooo cherished by us all, that she is an extended family member to me. She is so special to all of us, and such a cutie!

Our Beloved Family Matriarch...
Mom's are so special to all of us. However we don't always get the chance to highlight them here... She was the best Mom, cook, seamstress and also made most of her families cloths for the rest of us 11 children. Gardener suppurb, made all of our lunches before sending us off to school. Helped us with our homework before preparing dinner, and she was also an awesome cook, so we never got any thinner. Now, let me remind you that she did it all long before Nicky sneekers got involved... In our beloved Mothers Day, ( just do it ) was the word way back then. She always kept our family together, family reunions with all of our Aunt's and Uncle's Cousins and Nieces and Nephewes. I'm sure that I've left out so many other talents that she was so blessed with...
Let us all continue our stories...

Our Beloved Family Patriarch...
Our Fathers are very special as well! My Dad was a wonderful father and a very brilliant engineer/mechanic to mention some of his many other great talents. I am sure that everyone can tell from the many stories out here!

You are very welcome Aviator! And I hear ayah!
In 1952, out of doors sunscreen was usually delivered by a passing thunder shower, although there was never any guaranty that anyone couldn't get fried by the lightening!..

He incorporated the youngest of our Clan at the time to sit beside him with a steering wheel and all, so as to eliminate any would-be ( Backseat Drivers ) from the rest of us on the trip west!

Hi, Terry. Are you sure your Dad was doing some custom tweaks to the Magic Carpet? On my last trip, I was under my kitchen cabinet re-tightening loose drain pipes. Also I had to re-tighten my closet door hinges. Looks like your Dad was doing what I just had to do.

Hi Robert!
No, I'm sure that my Dad had and did further customize the Magic Carpet, ( right out of the crate ) when it was delivered to us from the factory in Stoneham Ma. there in 1951 to facilitate more comfort and over the road safety for the eleven of us at the time!.. The above photo was taken before we left on our journey to California, and also when the Magic Carpet was brand new.
I would however agree with you that my Dad probably found some minor tweaks during the pree trip inspection that needed his attention as well...
I also think that one of the many reasons our Mom loved our Dad so much was that, he was never afraid to clean up after himself!
Love, Terry
