Shady Dell for Sale

Here's your opportunity to own a truly unique piece of Americana. The infamous Shady Dell in Bisbee, AZ is for sale on Ebay and will be for a month. For just a mere pitance, you can own this wonderful eclectic collection of iconoclastic piece of historic culture.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MakeTrack=true

Keep an eye on this one.

WOW! I'd give them .5 mill right now...but I'm sure the reserve is at least 5X that.

what a cool place. It would be great for me to retire there, I could play music in my on bar, tinker with the toys, and go off merrily into the sunset.
Ahh, but back to reality.

It's been up for sale for several years now...

Shady Dell For Sale.

The asking price was $625,000 last I heard. Maybe the reserve is lower...I say go for it!

Looks like it's 2 hours south of Tuscon. Pretty much on the US-MEX border.

Dots

It's in the town of Bisbee, AZ if you have not been, the town is a great stop over for exploring the border towns of Arizona. Tombstone, Douglas, etc. I've eaten at Dots for breakfast it's a great little place I think it only has 6 seats at the counter. They have perfect pies on display in the case and everything about the place screams..Classic 50s Diner. I still remember the short order cook and a regular customer who looked like he had just stepped out of a 50s movie set....with a tight buzz top and dark rim glasses...and rolled up jeans. All 5 of us in the place, had this random deep philosophical conversation over eggs... it was a trip to the past just sitting in this place...In AZ it's hard to find a short order cook that speaks English and my Spanish it barely good enough to order food so this was unexpected. Put it on your places to explore in AZ list.

I think it's a bit too far off the beaten path for most. Bisbee is not usually thought of as a destination point. Now if it were located along ol' Route 66....

Zamboni,
Looking at your Avatar I don't think that rig is going to "blend in" anywhere. I know it would certainly get my attention if you pulled in next to us. BTW, what is it you're hiding?

And I bet that black "microbus" actually converts into a helicopter. Remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they AREN'T out to get you

Can't say I've ever seen a black microbus before...not even in the parking lot of an old Grateful Dead show... nice toad... That is the ultimate 'stealth' hippiemobile.. 0-60mph in................nobody goes 60 in a bus. .

yea guys
it's a pretty cool microbus.....
and the windows are tinted black too.....

it may convert into a heli....
i cannot confirm or deny....
only his family members have been inside....

and it may actually go 60+....
the engine has been tweaked....
we can just see the headers and exhaust....
but i've heard the air cooled rumble this puppy makes....
having owned the same microbus new......
steering and stopping from 60mph is an adventure!

as a greatful dead wagon the flat black is nice....
but i think his plan is to top that with a brilliant black metallic...
and silver accents.....

i'll post photos next year when it's done.....
cheers

I would love to have the Shady Dell, Use to live in Douglas Ariz as a child and remember Bisbee as a mining town that was 30 years ago ooops I'm telling my age. Would that not just be awesome to have all those trailers and a diner to boot.
