the one from santa cruz craigslist is mine. i actually referred to this post before i bought it to restore to make sure it wasnt the one. the trailer is also listed in the classifieds here. and on ebay with all the proper VIN and serial number posted. i am very sorry you have to go through all this. someone robbed us not too long ago and took 2 laptops among other stupid things. laptops were very personal. - with tons of vintage trailer pictures on it too! the incident left me a bit bitter and paranoid for a while. dont let it get to you.! best wishes to you.

Thanks for the post Greenrig. The photos I've seen of your trailer show an outstanding 18 footer. Makes me miss ours even more. Did it sell? I don't see it listed any more.

Just wanted to bring this thread to the top...

With summer here and trailers out and about, please keep your eyes peeled for our babe. Ryan is working fast and furious to finish the Flying Cloud and I'm sure we'll love using it when its done; but we still miss the Traveler an awful lot. It'd be great to be using it this weekend.

Seeing all this nice camping weather must be driving you stir crazy. I drive in this area and go into allot of places that aren't normally traveled. I've seen quite a few Airstreams unfortunately not yours. I keep a camera with me just in case I see something interesting. Hopefully some day it will be a Traveler.

I'm still hopeful you will recover the Traveler as well, so then you will have TWO!

JERKS!!! How frustrating!

I have been searching multiple craiglist locations for a while by using
www.craiglook.com. It only searches titles and doesn't sort by date, but it's worth a shot.

Also try a site "mash" not sure about the technical meaning, but this site searches for all ads to include craigslist and ebay. You can search different trailers by name or generic trailer or camper. This is the link to the current airstream "mash" listing:
site mash : airstream : combined classified and auction listings++++

Good Luck!

Just a thought along the line of large congregations of trailers...

Maybe someone going to "Burning Man" should keep the photos of your trailer handy

I have just finished reading your entire post and will rethink all my trailer safety issues! Don't worry, I will be looking for your trailer in the southern California area too. One late night at a rest area, I witnessed a big semi make a turn while leaving, hit a huge tree, knocking it over and severely damaging another truck where a guy was parked and asleep, yelled at the driver who did it (who definitely saw me) and pointed back to the tree. He just continued his turn, kept going and could certainly see what happened from the exit lane of the rest area and off he went onto the highway. I ran over to the damaged truck, checked to see if the driver was OK which he was. He tried to call the other guy with his CB with no response.

Anyway, we were heading the same direction as the getaway truck, so my girlfriend and I hopped in our car and took off after him, calling 911 in the process. They got the CHP and local sheriffs on the cell phone to us and we followed all their precautions for our safety as we tried to see if we could catch up to spot him again. A half hour later, there he was in front of us. We stayed way back, let the CHP know our exact location and as we pulled into Lone Pine, CA, were happy to hear the sheriff tell us, "We have the suspect in view." They asked us to pull over and stop and we watched them nail the guy up the road. Anyway, they got our story recorded, thanked us profusely and then we left, feeling that we would be pretty safe to go just a tad over the speed limit to get to our destination at Mono Lake. We had written down the names of the officers we had spoken to in case anyone decided to pull us over and needed to check our references.

Long story short, if I ever see your trailer, I will be ready and willing to pursue it, safely of course, and with the local authorities help. I love it when they catch the bad guys.....

By all means let's keep this on the front page. I have family and friends keeping eyes open for your little beauty. Fingers crossed and God willing we will find her.

We will be a Burning Man - its unlikey it can hide there. There are 2 big camps of Airstreamers there and they are all on Airforums. I have the pics and details with me - I consider it our collective mission to recover this rig. Every since this post, I have reveresed my Airstream in my driveway to point it at the house, put extra locks on it, and chained it to my jeep.

Someone in the Seattle-Tacoma area may want to check this out. Probably legit, but worth mentioning.

Besides the awning, is there something unique on the stolen coach that would tip us off?
