Ok, I'll update this soon. This Thursday, we're going to recover a 61 Ambassador from Cape Cod.
SYDTR!
Rob,
A couple of things that we found out about our 1954 Liner, the wheels are five bolt, there is a locating pin on the drum, and the old brake drums are too small for the new backing plates. Good luck,
SYDTR,
Bill

Rob,
Looks like you are OK, no split rims, but remember a 2" ball.

Non suicide door as well. One scratch down the road side but rest of skin looks good.

Rob,
That is only because all of the rest of your trailers have 2" hitches.

We are heading north on I95 now with the recovered 54 Safari in tow. It's rough - the floor is shot, but it's a 13 panel. One plus is the kitchen is all there, as is the original bath. Yup, that's our 54 with the Airstream Ranch in the background. We're in Brunswick, Georgia now.
Yup, this one goes in the barn. Long term project, like 5 years before we touch it.. after the 65 Caravel is completed. The front kitchen is way cool, and I have so much more peace of mind knowing the door is not a Suicide Door. Front will remain in tact (original) - the rear - an open canvas.
Rob, you did real good(intentional miss use of the english language) with that one. Extra kharma and karma to Byamcaravanner for turning you on to that one. I hope to see her pull into my barn when you are ready for a new interior. That kitchen would look excellent in ribbon mahogany with a hand rubbed finish... very sweet... congratulations again, I am very happy for you.
We are on mile marker 190 in South Carolina...10 miles to South of the Border. This concrete 95 is punishing. Our goal is Gettysburg, Pa tonight. I'll be sure to get more detailed photos of the dead roaches and mouse droppings for tonight.
I'll let the pictures tell the story. We're on the VA/NC border.. we'll be getting up bright and early in the morning to complete the trek! Yes, that is a cochroach.. and the sink drain. More in a minute. Probably the worst floor ever.
Here are a couple more of the rear end. This thing will require a major overhaul. Yup, that's the Airstream at the Animal Kingdom at Disney... I can never get enough Airstream!
