Our new '54
Here is our new O 6039 1954 Safari we purchased last week. We go get it over MLK weekend. We're in NY and this one is in central Florida. We are excited to finally have a 13 panel in the inventory.

Congrats,
I saw this thread while my wife is logged in. But I can't help myself. We recently purchsed a '56 and I am anxious to hear what you are going to do to this one. Was this one built in CA? I ask because the door is on backwards and I have only seen that from the CA. plant. We will be keeping an eye on your progress with this so please post all that you can.

Dave, I've still got lots of work to do on my 56 Safari, and may have parts left over. : ) I'll keep you in mind too!

Nice one Rob. You still have $ left over after that emblem?
Have a safe trip without any excitement.

Dave,
The letter O preceeding the serial number indicates the Ohio plant.

Looks like a nice find Rob.
Looking forward to your build out of it.
We've got a couple of friends who will be redoing their's (52 and 53) this spring/summer.
It is always exciting watching the revival of a 13 panel - not that I am biased in any way.

Congratulations on your 13 panel find, Rob. What did you say on your blog? That you need help for your addiction? Seems like you are doing fine by yourself.

WOW... I am jealous. You should focus as much time as possible on getting that trailer ready for The Cherry Blossom Rally. It will be the bell of the ball...

The Plan
We are currently planning on driving down the week of the 18th - 22nd.. the trailer is in Lakeland, FL. Tim, we might be stopping and staying a night at Fort Wilderness - NOT! Wish I knew what wheel bearing these 54s used so I could have a couple sets with me. We'll be staying a couple days, so I plan on pulling them, and calling immediately to get a couple sets on order.
Ok, I'll update this soon. This Thursday, we're going to recover a 61 Ambassador from Cape Cod.

Congrats
Rob, great to see you have a 13 panel. I'm sure we would all like to see interior pictures once you get her home. We are still gathering parts and pieces for out 55 Flying Cloud. We drove all day yesterday to get a 50's Marvel fridge for ours. Thanks again for your kind offers last year when we were going to make that big trip.

Here are a few interior shots
The PO has been using it as a storage shed, or so it appears. This has a front road side bath, and kitchen stove is under from window. To the right of the entry door, there was a Panel Ray heater, which I have one, and then the original fridge and sink area is all there. Right inside, there would be a dinette and the dinette is still there, albeit sitting in the rear of the trailer. I can't wait to hoe it out. I'll most likely do a floor off with this one.
Enjoy!

It looks like you have most of the pieces and then some. Is that a pile of lights on the one counter?
I look forward to following your posts as you do your magic on this one.

Yes there is!
Yes, most of the interior is there, as well as the aluminum wall extrusions too. I'm glad the front end stuff is there - it's just got the paint over it. Not too sure what is there in the rear, but I think it would have had some beds and from other pictures on RJ's site, a closet to the left of entry door that is missing. We're thinking of towing into Florida State Rally with it...ya think they would let us in (not to stay in it of course)...
