Bubonic Plague in Colorado

Google says a squirrel has been found with the plague in Colorado.

Good news, antibiotics given early enough will.cure it. Rats, cats and dogs etc can.carry the infected fleas which transmit the disease via biting.

Florida seems nicer all of a sudden, but perhaps I ought to get flea collars for.my ankles.

There are usually a.dozen or so cases a year in the USA. What a weird way to.be cheered up. And don't hug any armadillos - they carry Hansons Disease (Leprosy)...which is also curable now.

Do *not* pet, feed, or get close to the "tame" squirrels and chipmunks especially out west. My Mom use to yell that vigorously at us kids when we camped as a family. She always said they carried the plague. Turns out, she was right! Camp safe, no petting or feeding the rodents, ok?

Bubonic Plague is common, but the sensational headline sure does get people talking. I guess murder hornets got boring. Be thankful for Cipro.
