Plug into shore power while batteries are disconnected?
This is a dumb question, but I have my batteries (standard Interstate RV batteries) disconnected for storage. Any reason not to plug the trailer in to run the AC, lights etc while doing work inside? I can't think of one or see anything in the manuals saying not to do this, but I figure it's worth asking.

Nope. Everything should work fine as long as the converter is working. Make sure you turn on the disconnect switch.

Make sure the postitive (+) cables are not contacting any metal, or the negative cable. I would tape them to prevent any arc. Your converter will be sending 12 volts to the batteries when plugged into shore power.

When I had Lifeline AGM's I just removed the Neg and wrapped in 'letricle tape.
When I installed the BB Lithiums I also installed a cut off switch and now I just charge them completely and shut them off.

My AS is plugged into a 30amp outlet without the battery right now. I can run everything that requires power. I remove my standard Interstate 12v battery and put it on a tender for the winter. But I can still use the trailer in my garage. As others have said, there’s live current in the battery cables so you need to make sure they are secure and not touching anything metal or in a spot you might accidentally touch the connectors and get shocked.

In the newer models, the converter is actually a charger (multi phase) which charges the batteries and it's the batteries that feed the 12V network, according to the manual of a 2021 27FB that I consulted. In this model if you toggled the Use/Store switch to Store, even when connected to shore power, the 12V curcuit would cut off. If this is the case with your unit, then you need to keep the batteries connected if you want 12V power.

For 2022 the electrical system has been changed to include the Intellitec Battery Guard 1000. Bottom line the device senses declining battery voltage and shuts off the battery switch automatically.

This is the case with our 2021 GT27. Our International you could plug into shore power and turn the batteries to store. With this new one, there will be no power, a fact not mentioned during our walk through. When we got it home and plugged it in we assumed something was up with the dog bone or the power from the house. A bit of testing and a quick search and we realized that the batteries need to be set to use.
