Question AC Model on 2019 GT

Hi,

I've recently ordered my 2019 Globetrotter and am very excited. I've been reading about installing soft start modules in the Air conditioners and was wondering if anyone knows what brand/model AC unit is installed in the 2019 GT. I've only ordered one AC in my unit.

Thanks!

Omnial-

Congratulations on your upcoming Airstream! We have a 2014 Flying Cloud 27FB twin, the same coach as yours without the awesome custom interior as the GT. Our Dometic A/C Heatpump is not ducted, but a similar model to the new ones. It's a guess, but I guess your single A/C coach will come with something like:

https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/pro...uin-ii-_-20683

There's even an Airstream on their spec page! The Airstream factory should be able to verify that 100% for you.

Hope this helps.

AC Model on 2019 GT

It is a dometic penguin II 15k btu with heat pump. That is the standard for airstream ACs that are mounted mid ship for trailers 25’ and up. The rear (second unit) would be a 13.5k btu unit.

You will need an Micro-Air EasyStart 364.

https://www.microair.net/products/ea...r-conditioners

You are smart to install one, I run 2 of them on my current trailer (one for each AC). There are penguin II specific installation instructions on their website.

Also, my $0.02. Change your order ASAP and get a second AC unit. A single 15k unit is not enough to cool that trailer with ducted air.

There are many threads here on that topic.

If you get your trailer and want to add a second AC after the fact it costs $11k and a trip back to the factory.

I don’t know why they don’t make the second AC unit standard on that length. One is not enough.

Get the 50 amp /2 AC !!
30 amp / single AC is not sufficient.
Being able to run multiple electric devices is worth the small adder in price.

Oh oh..... I didn't even think about getting a second AC. I've never used the AC in my current trailer (not an Airstream) as it just doesn't get that hot where I've been camping in Canada.

But it is a goal to make a bit trip down South, throughout the US.

I wonder if I still have time to add it? Supposed to be delivered in end of August.

You can still add it, just give your dealer a call. Trust me you want it [emoji4]

50A service is a plus too! In a 30A trailer you can’t even run the AC and microwave at the same time, let alone the water heater.
