Are You on the Level?

Would appreciate recommendations on a good all around product to use for leveling a 27FB International. The more reviews I read of the various products, the less confident I am in any of the products.

Anderson 3604 sounds good, but too narrow and too slippery

Most plastic blocks, crack quickly

Rubber blocks deform and are too slick, don't interlock

Utility Block seems like the best based on my modest research

I really like my Anderson levelers. Never had a problem with them being narrow or slippery. They're the same width as the tire treads, and it's not like you have to hit them from 40 yards away. I just plop them in front of the tires, give them a little kick to make sure they're snug against the edge of the tire, and drive forward until I'm level.

I like.the Anderson's as well. I do occasionally have them slip, so I got some rubber garage floor squares from HD and cut them down to be used under the Andersons.

Love My Anderson Levelers, too!

I bought a pair of them, and they came with rubber strips, which I assumed were to be used on wet grass under the main part of the leveler.

I guess they could be used on top of the leveler if someone were worried about a wet tire slipping off.

I was skeptical at first, but even the wife says they're the easiest things about settling in to a campsite.

Didn't like using the plastic squares at all. I now put them under the leveling jacks just to keep them from getting muddy or bending on uneven soil.

Back in the mid seventies I cut a 2X8 board into three pieces - 3 foot, 2 foot, and one foot. I screwed these together forming a stair stepped ramp. I made two of these. Now, 40+ years later I am still using them. Cheap and easy to use.

We've been using a set of Lynx leveler blocks for almost 4 years and they are still fine. They were used and came with the trailer and we've camped over 170 days in that time.

I'm in the camp that uses a few blocks of 2x8's cut to different sizes. Cheap to replace if needed and have worked well for years. Also the easy way to remove a tire along the road.

Thanks to all who contributed

I went ahead and ordered the Andersons

By the way, I had been using 2x8s in a stairstep for my Sprinters. It did work very well, however, no place to store them in the trailer, and a bit heavy and awkward.

Yes all you need is some scrap wood, 2x8s and a few pieces of plywood.

Combination Levelers

I found that the Anderson levelers do not work well on wet grass or soft ground. The offset is that they are easy to use and provide incremental adjustment. My solution is to carry one 2x10 approximately 4 ft long. If needed, the 2x10 goes under the tires on the low side and then the Anderson levelers are added if more adjustment is required. If on pavement or compacted gravel, the 2x10 is not needed. I also added non-skid tape to the working surfaces of the levelers.

The Anderson levelers don't lift my wheels far enough to change a tire. I have a separate tool for that.

I have used one to remove a tire on dual axels. You have to get it on the high end and it can be tricky, but it can be done., at least on a 23.
