New Airstream

Just acquired my first travel trailer, a 2019 Sport/Bambi 16. I've lived, worked, studied, or traveled in 80+ countries, but this is a new adventure.

I'm sure I'm not the first to think of it, but as a grandfather of five, I'm thinking of this adventure as "gramping".

I'm not sure if having two dogs - a Papillon and a MinPin/Dachsund - counts as solo, but that's my story.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

That's a great looking rig. Have fun.

I travel solo with my 2 dogs, an Aussie and Coton de Tulear. I am near the end of another cross-country journey. Have done 8K+ this year.

Hey Neighbor,

We took one of our grandsons on a 20-ish day trip 18 months ago. It was a lockdown-induced consolation prize for missing his BIG TRIP (twelfth birthday gift for each grandchild) with us to London.

Enjoy.

Congratulations! That looks the perfect rig to let you go Gramping anywhere your heart desires. Sometimes less is more. Smart.

I love the picture of your rig. It makes me homesick. (I’m a dislocated Son of the Republic whose ancestors migrated to the Republic before statehood. I almost bought a place Dripping Springs, and still have land we lease in Yorktown, Texas.)

I live in Virginia and bought an airstream this past summer. Went out a couple of times and enjoyed it, but also found it a bit lonely. How do you cope with that?

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

Have you joined the AS Club? That would be a good way to make traveling friends. I would suggest checking it out. (Airstreamclub.org)
