New New New
hey there!
I'm a new member to this forum. I have a new 2007 16' Airstream Bambi. She's beautiful! I bought a new 2007 Chevy Tahoe to tow the trailer. I'm sick of Corporate America and I think it must be a mid-life crisis! What a way to go!
I have never been camping like this - but the Airstream has been a dream. I haven't yet taken her for the maiden voyage but it's coming in the next week or so.
Anyone have suggestions?! California RV gave me a membership to 1,000 Trails - if anyone has experience with 1,000 trails, I would love to hear it.
Thanks for your help and I'm looking so forward to this!

I second that! Airstreaming is definitely the "way to go"! I just returned from a two week trip to Disney in my Airstream. All my "Corporate America" stress disappeared and I returned refreshed and rejuvenated!
Best of luck in your new rig.

Perfect timing for your first adventure....over fifty (at least thirty Airstreams) of us from the forum are getting together at Casini Ranch, just north of San Francisco. The rally is April 27 -29, but many are showing up early. Click on the rally calendar above and then look for the links for Casini for details. You won't meet a better bunch of folks, all kinds, shapes, ages, some retired, most not, dogs, cats, kids, all with the same affection (read affliction) for aluminum and adventure.
If you need any help, just ask and you won't believe the desire for forum members to assist in every way.

Hey DeadHead58
Safari-Rick here. I'm just up the road from you here in Lakewood. If you don't want to go too far and check out all your hookups, I would recommend going to "Canyon RV Park" up in the Anaheim hills area. It's off the 91. Has full hooks, activities, propane(if you need to fill your tanks), etc.
Runs along the Santa Ana river.
Welcome aboard !
Safari-Rick

Scott, you are not kidding! On weekends when we can not go camping, We have had a lunch or two inside the Bambi. Our neighbors thought we had family visiting, but I was just us using any excuse to spend time inside our Trailer. Now how corny is that....
Angie & George...
Oh Deadhead58, get ready for the tours of your Bambi. Sooooo many people will ask you if they can have a look inside. It is just wonderfull...enjoy...

Welcome!
Nice people over there at California Rv! I bought my 16' Bambi there too.
The 1000 trails stuff, is.. imho... worthless... I tried the some of the parks in Ca, but didn't like any of them.
...and more importantly...it is NOT free.... in order to have a lifetime "free" membership of ONE of the 1000 trails parks.. you have to pay around $500 a year.
If you want to use All of the parks, you have to become a member which will cost you several thousands of $$$ + the 500 a year.
The whole scheme might make sense if you live in your trailer full time, but not if you want to tour once in a while.
I prefer the National Parks, they have much nicer sites and way cheaper. I'm not interested in a Rv park that looks like a miniature city with all the facilities.. for me Camping is getting away from all that!
Have fun at your maiden voyage!
