Time to walk away from the anger

I am writing because I have found myself reading threads getting more heated about certain issues concerning individuals, clubs, money and other things. I guess I could just ignore the threads but I have been trying to make sense out of the rising conflicts. Please no!!! don't repeat the reasons because I have read them over and over in all kinds of threads.

The bottom line is people are angry and standing their ground about certain issues pertaining to airstream RVing. Maybe if people could just turn off the negative and forget about the anger a new light will shine and understanding and common ground can be found. If not new creative ways of airstreaming may come out of it.

For people who have felt that they have been cheated one way another relax. Something positive will come out of it if you want it to. I joined the new TAC club. My first RV club ever. Times are changing and in nature life evolves. I think these changes people are making is just evolution of a way of life. A new breed of Airstreaming is being born. A different philosophy or getting away from tradition, who knows? change is happeining

I hope you all just look at the big picture. Enjoy your camping while you can. Club or no club times will be changing in the next 30 years. Watch this below. I saw this at a science conference last week. It is very boring for about 6 minutes and then you will see alarming growth of population. We may lose are way of life and camping if we are not careful. Time to get along and focus on the big picture.

Watch the whole thing

Brian

Lurked here for a bit - just signed up today and even though it is free - the first thing I did was place my $20.00 donation via Pay Pal....

That's how great I think this forum is, the users, and the information!!!!

Now if I can only figure out which Airstream to purchase....

Well actually the brand affiliation group is an Airforums Club. Your beef is unfounded. And the brand affiliation group is operated on the same model as any other Airforum club... free free free. Everyone pays their own way. It is all right here at Airforums...
You are welcome to come join in the fun anytime you wish.

problem with clubs is that some people never get included.when im traveling,i feel as comfortable engaging anybody in conversation.doesnt matter if they are in a prevost or in a tent.afterall i started in a tent.i look at the camping community as one big club.when i was in lake george a couple of summers ago,the prevost club was having a little rally on there way to canada.as i pulled in next to there prevosts, they were wondering how i got in to there exclusive area.i said i asked for a premium site and was willing to pay the freight.after admiring their units they invited me and my family over for some margarita tailgating.of course,as the evening progressed they were very interested in checking out the silver bullet next door.clubs tend to evolve into a big click inmho.

that's more like it brian!

what sets THIS place apart from most brand/enthusiast/chat sites is that we actually DO have gatherings (my favorite term for rallez)

there have been 100s all over the land,

with no real restrictions beyond the geography at hand.

and these gatherings don't have a kitty fee, insurance issues, or other hoops to jump.

they generally focus on camping, food, campfires, food, relaxin, food, beverages, food, alien probings, food, recreation and...

did i mention food?

it's been interesting to watch the wb' and others try to skim off from this simple'r buffett of gatherings...

without much success.

the folks who have organized the gigs almost always express satisfaction from their efforts.

some have developed a real KNACK for planning these forum events and do several a year now...

IF the need is to feel like one belongs somewhere or is a part of something...

that can and does happen here.

IF the need is for a LOCAL affiliation with folks CLOSE BY who can physically assemble,

the wb' can and does SERVE that goal...

in SOME regions.

and so do the these forums, where enough folks live life CLOSE 2gether.
___________

the challenge is always building a critical mass within some 'range' of distance that serves the purpose.

so folks that live or spend a lot of time where there are CLUSTERS of LOTs of streamers can get that in the wb' or here...

IF however one is 100s of miles removed from many other streamers...

no new group will solve that issue by issuing new alpha/numerics.
___________

i think that alot of this early activity is from the desire to get a LOW NUMBER.

as if that somehow defines us.
___________

many schemes that are not much more than FLUFF and static, rely on appealing to this very notion....

ever heard the "get IN on the ground floor" cliche' ?
___________

anyway it's good to read u NOW remember the "1st club"

and hope u can make some of the many FORUM gatherings on the FORUM calendar!

there seems to be a LOT of gatherings and stuff in/around jo-ja' and flo'da to attend.

with lots of friendly southern charm...

and food

cheers

More Great Posts from 2Air

2air,

You really hit the proverbial nail on the head with your posts in this thread. I wish I could have said it as well as you. airforums rallies are great - I've never attended one I did not enjoy. Thanks to Andy R for putting all this together - long live airforums!

By the way, Andy R has several other cool forum sites. I particularly like the Early Retirement forum - I've learned very valuable lessons from the E-R members.

How do you get to the early retirement forum? I am only 3.5 years away from retirement from my current job. I will still work doing something else.

Go to the Portal page on this site. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. Look on the left side of the page and you'll see Andy's other sites.

I would like to explore the nuances and ramifications of walking away from anger.

Perhaps that is subject sensitive but then perhaps there are cases to be made in general. How much is too much? When does one call it a day? What are the issues and the compromises involved. While the heading is leading the comments are disappointing. What say Ye?

And of course my first love and loyalty is Air Foruns! Bur let's broaden the discussion to include as much dialog as possible. It seems a very interesting subject.

whatz the matter, NOT enough traffic at the save/defend websites???

pot stirring r u C' ?

u posted recently in one of the MANY threads on the wb' how much u enjoyed the mud-wrestling HERE...

SO far this thread had avoided that...

AND there is PLENTY of THAT plastered on the forums already.
____________

IF in fact the 1st love/loyalty is ARF...

WHY try to provoke more about these issues in a thread where it isn't.
_________

the on and on and on about the wb and the childish ex members playing in the their OWN back yard now...

HURTs ARF when it TRIES to dominate the portal page here.

yes it HURTs this place and the overall a/s community members who largely DO NOT care about the wb' much.

or have their OWN approach to trying to morph the club.
_________

and savewally wasn't started to save wally.

it was started to SAVE AIR FORUMS from the repetitive stress of wacking the wb' here everyday in dozens of threads...

once the NEGATIVE feedback about ALL of those threads peaked,

savewally was WISELY started to focus (and CONTROL) those discussions...on a DIFFERENT website.

wally's name as used by the club was NEVER at risk.

the name change was NEVER going to happen and savewally had nothing to do with REALLY effecting ANY changes...

same with the thor products INCLUSION in the wb', THAT was never going to happen either.
___________

THIS place was USED by the dozen or so wb' members who CLAIMED to be doing something important for the REST of membership...

when what they were REALLY doing was something important for THEMSELVES...

as in SELF PROMOTION, which continues but predictably has worked AGAINST any efforts at real change.

NOT ONE change has resulted in the wb' as a result of ANY commotion by the core/primary savew' group.

NOT ONE.

it could be claimed that AWARENESS was raised by that group and their efforts...

but that awareness was already happening and enabled by modern communications (like arf) more so that ANY direct action at savew'
___________

ok there's yer mud, now start slinging.

cheers
