My neighbor went to Alaska and all I got was this Airstream ornament... ;)
My neighbors went to visit friends in Alaska, and noticed this at some trinket shop during their travels. It was nice that they thought of me and brought it home for me.

Alas it's ceramic (not aluminum.) It's a fired metallic glaze, though, so it's quite shiny.

thanks... it's 50s in style only, though. I chose it when we renovated this 50s house in 2007. It's genuine Formica, they brought back the boomerang pattern and a couple of others for a while, but I don't see them on their site now.
It's edged with aluminum "face nosing" with a plain surface, and so far it's held up very well.

Charcoal Boomerang (No.6942) still appears on their site. Sadly, they discontinued the other colours (coral, skylark, etc.).

So it does... I didn't see it scrolling through "Patterns" under the laminate swatches, but as a database professional I should've just searched for "boomerang" where it turns up instantly. Now, of course, it's perfectly obvious when I scroll through as well.
If you're really doing it up in a 50s style, I can see some of the other colors working well, but the charcoal was what I wanted to go with the royal-blue glossy modern cabinet fronts and stainless backsplash. It's nice to know I could get another piece for now!
