Maybe I am way too wary of others playing with what I have built and they are not familiar with, but I get nervous when my mechanic drives my MH for a test run. I think I would go into panic mode with anyone else using it.
But that is just my insanity

it like gambling. only give out what you can afford to lose.
Unless you
1. REALLY know the person
2. know how they drive
3. have years of trailer experience- with the same tralier type.
4. are willing to pay for ANY/ALL damage or loss
then maybe

No one drives my tow vehicle, no one will use or tow my trailer, no one drove my Camaro, no one drove my Vette, no one sleeps in my bed at my house, except my wife and her life insurance is paid up.

[QUOTE=Fly at Night;1235530]Especially the Canadian ones. We can squeeze a nickel until the beaver screams. Just ask any waitress in a Florida restaurant.
I thought this post deserves to be brought back to life.

Welcome MyParadise. Does he have a Lamborghini Countach, Ford gt 40, Ferrari 488 GTB, or 57 Mercedes 300sl that you can drive while he's camping? If not, tell him that he can rent a Airstream at the campground. Trust me, your friendship is not worth the risk.

We use our beloved Lucy as a guest room. Our sons and their families have stayed in her a number of times. So, family has used Lucy. Taking Lucy on the road, probably not.

People have always disappointed me when I loan them anything. Family is the only exception..you don't expect it to be returned, therefore I'm never disappointed.

Thanks to all your responses
Your input validated my angst in lending my AS and gave me the courage to reverse my decision backed with reasonable concerns. Now, I can sleep at night knowing that my baby is safely parked aside our house and will not leave without proper parental guidance.

Since what we have is no longer made, there would be extensive modifications required to make a new one like our current models.
Anything is negotiable.
A cash deposit of 250% of the current list price of a comparable new model payable with even a scratch would probably turn the interest off.......

My answer if ever asked would be no. I never loaned any of my Harley's and I have never loaned any of our RVs, but then I've never been asked to loan any of them either. There are places that rent RVs and several rent Airstreams.
